We're delighted to announce the rescheduled Iron Keep event, taking place on 5th September – and we've expanded the programme to create something truly special...

Welcome to the Iron Keep Medieval Trail Running Festival! 🏃‍♂️🔥

Set within the stunning grounds of a medieval village, Iron Keep is now a full-day celebration of trail running, history, entertainment and adventure.

What's on the programme?
⚔️ The Iron Keep Siege Run
Our traditional format 5-hour endurance challenge remains at the heart of the festival for those brave enough to test their limits.

🛡️ Iron Keep: Knight's Quest Half Marathon
A brand-new trail half marathon through beautiful terrain and medieval surroundings.

👑 Tiny Titans Kids Fun Run
An exciting adventure run for our youngest warriors, packed with fun and medieval-themed challenges.

There’s a theme running through Outsider Events’ flagship festivals...

We’re incredibly fortunate to host our events in locations that highlight the very best of Scotland’s landscapes, culture and outdoor spirit. Each festival is designed not only to create unforgettable experiences, but also to inspire visitors to discover the incredible places that make this country so special.

Our next event is no exception.

Introducing the inaugural South Scotland Outdoor Festival, taking place from 26–28 June at the magnificent Drumlanrig Castle.

Set within one of Scotland’s most spectacular estates, the festival brings together outdoor challenges, live music, inspiring speakers and a community of adventurers from near and far. This year features our biggest festival line-up yet, including , , and many more.

From the trails and rides to the music and atmosphere, it’s a weekend built to celebrate adventure while showcasing one of Scotland’s most beautiful regions to a global audience.

This time in 3 weeks, we'll be on our final day of SSOF 2026.

Day 3 will be all about trail running and our road sportives, climbing to the highest village in Scotland at Wanlockhead.

We're looking forward to start building the buzz, ahead of in 2027, with stage one mainly based in the South of Scotland.

You can purchase this as a standalone sportive ticket or as a full weekend festival experience.

To celebrate Global Running Day, we're delighted to officially launch our NEWEST trail running series - EDGETrails.

EDGETrails has been created with one simple goal: making trail running more accessible.

The series will bring affordable, high-quality trail racing to the edge of Scotland's major cities, with events taking place on the edge of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen and Inverness.

Whether you're taking your first steps on the trails or you're an experienced ultra runner, there will be a distance for you. Each round will feature races ranging from Kids Fun Runs and 5Ks through to 10Ks, Half Marathons, 30Ks and 50km Ultras.

One of the questions we're asked most often is: "How do I get to the race?"

To remove that barrier, every EDGETrails event will include a complimentary city-centre coach shuttle service from a central pick-up location to the race venue as part of your entry fee.

No complicated logistics. No expensive travel. Just great trail running, close to home.

Pre-registration is now open, with entries officially going on sale the day after our final event of the year at Aberfoyle Trail Festival this October.

This week is International Volunteers’ Week, and we want to shine a light on the incredible team at Tayside 4x4 Response 🧡

We've been working with this amazing group for the past 5 years, and honestly, Outsider Events simply wouldn’t be where it is today without them.

As a registered charity powered by volunteers, Tayside 4x4 Response plays a huge role in making our events happen. From event logistics and course setup to on-the-day marshal support (and so much more behind the scenes), their dedication is second to none.

These are the friendly faces you see out on course cheering you on, supporting runners and riders, and helping create the welcoming atmosphere that makes our trail running and gravel events so special.
