The Original Wolf of Arctic 🐺

Before there was Arctic Therapy. Before there was Wolf Pack Strength. Before there was a vision of building a business centred on growth, support, and belonging...

There was Thor.

Thor was more than a dog. He was the original wolf of Arctic.

When people think about strength, they often think about muscles, performance, or achievement. Thor taught us that true strength looks very different.

Strength is kindness.

Strength is patience.

Strength is protecting those who need you.

Strength is showing up every day, even when no one notices.

Thor lived these values every single day.

He welcomed nervous children into the gym. Many would arrive early just to spend time with him. Children who were scared of dogs somehow trusted him immediately. They saw what everyone else saw — kindness.

He watched over our boys from the day they were born. He slept beside their cots, lay beside their prams, followed them through fields, beaches, gardens, and living rooms. Never intrusive. Always present. Always watching.

He taught gentleness without saying a word.

He taught patience by allowing little hands to explore ears, eyes, noses, and fur.

He taught loyalty by never leaving the side of the people he loved.

Looking back through photographs, one thing stands out. In almost every picture, Thor is watching over someone. A child playing. A baby sleeping. A family member sitting quietly. He made it his job to care.

And perhaps that's what Arctic has always been about.

Not simply helping people become stronger physically.

Helping people feel safe enough to grow.

Supporting others through challenges.

Showing kindness first.

Thor never knew he was inspiring us. He was simply being himself. But in doing so, he became the foundation of everything we value.

The wolf in our logo was never just a wolf.

It was him- our Thor.

Our guardian.

Our family.

Massive Welcome to Eve 👏👏👏🐺🐺🐺

Arctic Therapy is extremely lucky to have Eve and The Conversion Room joining us at Arctic Therapy. Who better to introduce her, other than herself:

Hey, I’m Eve — a Graduate Sports Therapist with a big passion for rugby and helping athletes
perform at their best, both on and off the pitch.

I graduated from UHI Perth in 2023 with a BSc
(Hons) in Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation, and since then I’ve been lucky to work alongside
some great teams — starting out with Hillfoots Rugby Club, then moving into Rugby League with
the Forth Valley Vikings and Scotland Rugby League U19s.

More recently, I’ve joined Hillfoots
Vixens and Heriot-Watt University Women’s Rugby Team, supporting players through everything
from pitch side care to rehab and return to play.

My approach is all about keeping treatment
individualised and athlete-focused — helping people move better, feel stronger, and get back to
what they love doing most. Whether it’s recovery, performance, or injury prevention, I aim to
make every session practical, positive, and personal.

When I’m not in clinic or pitch side, I’m
usually joining in on the fun — from charity touch tournaments to end of season fancy dress.

My decision to become a Sports Therapist was shaped by my own experiences within sport and
injury. Going through rehabilitation myself gave me a genuine understanding of the physical
demands of recovery, as well as the frustration and uncertainty that can come with time away
from doing what you enjoy.

That experience not only sparked my interest in injury management and performance but also developed the empathy that underpins my practice today — allowing
me to support athletes with both clinical expertise and personal insight as they work towards returning stronger and more confident.

Our Saturday morning youth classes are all about building athletic foundations, confidence, and fun movement skills for life.

8:00am – Wolf Cubs (ages 6–12)
🏃‍♂️ Athletic Development Class
A playful, structured session that builds coordination, balance, speed, and strength through games and movement skills — setting up for success in any sport.

9:00am – Wolf Pack Teens (12+) HYROX Class
🔥 Learn to lift, move, and apply those skills in a Hyrox-style circuit designed for youth.
Each week blends strength technique, teamwork, and endurance — encouraging discipline, resilience, and confidence in every rep.

Both sessions are coached by Maria, ensuring safe progression, positive energy, and lots of encouragement.

We’re kicking things off with a FREE Trial Day on Saturday 27th September for ages 6–18 🎉

🌟 What’s on?

HYROX Kids (12–18 yrs) – 8:00–8:45am
A fun circuit class with stations like Ski-Erg, Farmers Carry & Wall Balls.

Physical Preparation (8–10 yrs) – 9:00–9:45am

Physical Preparation (6–8 yrs) – 10:00–10:45am

✨ What is Physical Preparation?
Think of it as the building blocks for all sport and activity. These sessions focus on physical literacy – balance, agility, coordination, and strength – while teaching safe gym skills. Children learn fundamental movement patterns (running, jumping, landing, lifting, throwing) in a fun and supportive environment.

Most importantly, everything is designed to be safe and appropriate for each child’s age and stage of maturation. That means they’ll be guided through the right exercises, at the right time, helping them to build confidence, technique, and healthy habits without risk.

✨ Have fun trying it for FREE – there’s no commitment, just a chance to explore something new and exciting!

We’re excited to welcome Glenn Douglas, our new Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist, to the team here at Arctic Therapy!

💬 “Hi, I’m Glenn – a qualified PT and sports therapist with a passion for helping people move, feel, and live better. My own journey through injury sparked a deep interest in hands-on therapy and supporting others through both recovery and performance. Whether it’s easing pain, boosting mobility, or just taking a moment to offload, massage has so much more to offer than just tight muscles.”

With a background in both one-to-one and team sport support, Glenn brings a strong belief in educating clients, building real connections, and providing the tools to self-manage and progress. He’s also about to take the next step in his career, heading to study physiotherapy at Glasgow Caledonian University this year.

🤝 Glenn values the power of a good therapist-client relationship and is always open for questions, chats, or guidance if something’s bothering you physically.

🐺 Shoutout to one of our own — Kirstie! 🔥

Today, she smashed an Aquathon—4th female out the water, top 10 overall, and 3rd in her age group 💪🌊🏃‍♀️

Kirstie has been part of Arctic's journey, and the Wolf Pack for years—our first 10K was in Dubai nearly a decade ago. Since reconnecting last year, she’s added structured strength & conditioning into her endurance training—and it’s paying off in every way.

Her own words say it best:
“I’m not going to lie—some days it’s bloody hard to find the time or motivation to train. Then a day like today comes along—‘race day’—that I was treating as a building block back to good health and fitness… and it totally exceeded my expectations. Consistency is key.”
