Super One GYG- 3rd and 4th of May

Being one of my favourite tracks I wanted to race at GYG at least once this year. This weekend was great however the driving can be considered shocking.

Saturday
Qualifying —> 10th
Heat 1 —> started 10th —> finished 7th
Heat 2 —> started 10th —> finished 19th after an incident with another driver
Final —> started 12th —> finished 10th after having someone defend the whole race

Sunday
Qualifying —> 13th had a really quick lap the last lap but got caught behind a back marker
Heat 1 —> started 13th —> finished 12th —> 17th after a bumper penalty
Heat 2 —> started 13th —> finished 12th
Final —> started 14th —> finished 8th after a driver was defending the whole race

Over all it was a good weekend and I enjoyed working with Mattie learning new lines and learning set up. Starting from the back in qualifying did not help but I tried my best. It’s a shame that I couldn’t do better but learning new things made up for it

Thank you to Mattie for being my mechanic, as well as showing me lines and helping me improve. Potenza racing engines for the power and my family for funding my racing and my parents for driving me places!

Scottish Super Series Round 1 Golspie

This weekend was hard in the heats but a good result in the final. Practice on Friday I had good pace one of the quickest out on track. Going into Saturday I continued with that pace and had a good day.

Heat 1 —> started 13th —> finished 8th I could have done better but needed to be braver on my overtakes
Heat 2 —> started 2nd —> finished 13th after having a spin at the start
Heat 3 —> started 9th —> finished 11th after having an incident with another diver on track
Final —> started 11th —> finished 4th on track —> finished 3rd!!! After penalties

Over all very happy with the final results I just put my head down and got on with gaining places. I hope I can continue results like these in this championship!

Thank you to Tony for being my mechanic, as well as Kraft Motorsport for giving me lines and helping me improve. Potenza racing engines for the power and my family for funding my racing and my parents for driving me places!

UKC Round 1 Whilton Mill

This is a track I don’t know well so I found this a challenging weekend. Struggled with pace all weekend and tried various different set ups but nothing seemed to change. Lost out due to some on track incidents resulted in not being able to make the final.

Qualifying —> 26th in group —> 26th overall all
Heat 1 —> started 26th —> finished 20th
Heat 2 —> started 26th —> finished 18th
Superheat —> started 21st —> finished 20th managed to get up a few more places before losing them after getting pushed wide
Repecharge —> started 10th —> finished 11th on track —> 15th after a bumper penalty from the start

Over all it was a good weekend, I knew going into the weekend that Whilton Mill was not going to be my strong track because of not having been there many times. Not having the pace all weekend was hard but I gained knowledge and race experience. I can’t wait for the next round at larkhall, a little bit closer to home!

Thank you to Tony for being my mechanic, as well as Kraft Motorsport for giving me lines and helping me improve. Potenza racing engines for the power and my family for funding my racing and my parents for driving me places!

Larkhall Race Weekend
Interesting weekend with mixed results and weather.
Practice on Saturday went well and was on pace.
Sunday was a difficult day, disqualification from qualifying due to my rear bumper and wheels not being flush. Only a few were picked up on this and held for ages after qualifying so didn’t have time to make any changes before heat 1.

Qualifying —> disqualified
Heat 1 —> started p23 —> finished p17 but with a drop down back to p19.
Heat 2 —> started again p23 —> finished p16 but had a penalty back to p22.
Final —> was ment to start p22 but starter motor failed but Tony managed to get me going but had to start last which was p27 —> Made it up to p19 by the end of the first lap —> finished p18.
Over all a hard weekend but I was learning and getting faster over the weekend the penalties and disqualification was had but I just tried to push through.

Thank you to Tony for being my mechanic, Kraft Motorsport for giving me lines and helping me improve, Potenza Racing Enginesfor the power, my family for funding my racing and my parents for driving me places.

I have been too busy to update so here is a final update before going back to the way it was. Last year I competed in the UKC and Scottish Super Series. It has been really fun to finish off my first season properly running with Kraft Motorsport, getting to work with Lewis Gilbert and Luke Hughes. Another great year of power from Potenza Racing Engines. And having great help from my mechanic Tony and a couple weekends with Ian and Jay learning set ups along the way. Finishing the UKC after some unexpected mechanical issues I finished 28th out of 74 drivers which for my first season I am proud of myself. In the Scottish super series I came 10th out of 34 drivers which I am getting better year by year. And winning the McLeod Cup for Best Endeavour which I was really happy with.
For the winter months I competed in the East of Scotland Kart Club Winter Series winning all races and finals apart from one where no fault of my own I crashed out, winning the championship by a mile.
This year I will be competing in the UKC and Scottish Super Series looking forward to working with Kraft Motorsport again and hoping to improve all my results and race craft.

Thank you to Tony for being my mechanic for the year. As well Kraft Motorsport for giving me lines and helping me improve. Potenza Racing Engines for the power, and my family for funding my racing and my parents for driving me places.

May 12th- Second day of racing for the first round of the UKC and still just as hot with it reaching temperatures of 23 degrees! After having mechanical issues the day before I only just fixed it the night before and had hope that there would be no more issues!

Super heat —> started 17th —> up to 9 —> then on the last lap down to 11th and hit a curb which meant that —> finished 17th after penalties. Very happy with my race craft in the super heat and was disappointed that I may not get into the final. I was very surprised to make it into the final even if it was last because of my poor results due to mechanical issues!
Final —> started 34th and had my spark plug die on first corner —> got up to 22nd before dropping to last place and half a lap down trying to keep my kart going —> finished 25th! Overall I was happy that I made it into the final but a bit disappointed as I had the pace to be racing with the others only to have my spark plug fail!

Thank you to Tony for being my mechanic, as well as Kraft Motorsport for giving me lines and helping me improve. Potenza racing engines for the power and my family for funding my racing and my parents for driving me places!

May 11th- First day of racing at round one of the UKC! I was very excited to see how I did after being on pace in practice! It was a very hot day again with it getting up to 22 degrees!

Qualifying —> 18th in group —> 23rd overall! This was not what I was hoping for but I had engine issues in the practice in the morning and it seemed to have fixed in qualifying and I had pace to possibly go faster.
Heat one —> started 22nd —> finished 20th this was not my best race as I struggled with my fuel pump and not over heating my tires.
Heat 2 —> started 23rd —> finished 26th after having fuel pump issues again!

Thank you to Tony for being my mechanic, as well as Kraft Motorsport for giving me lines and helping me improve. Potenza racing engines for the power and my family for funding my racing and my parents for driving me places!

May 10th I am racing in the UKC at Kimbolton and despite it only being my second time here I am only half a second off the leaders and I have the pace to be running top 10! With it getting to 23 degrees and it’s only supposed to get hotter on Saturday and Sunday it’s definitely going to be a challenge!

Friday practice is done onto the rest of the weekend! With Saturday containing two practice sessions, qualifying and two heats. And on Sunday having a superheat and the final! Over all it’s going to be a great weekend and I’m looking forward to this!

Thank you to Tony for being my mechanic, as well as Kraft Motorsport for giving me lines and helping me improve. Potenza racing engines for the power and my family for funding my racing and my parents for driving me places!

May 5th racing at Larkhall as there is many fast drivers from the British racing looking to improve my times! This was a great weekend as I not only improved my times but I made my first A final! And I’m glad I did with overtaking 15 karts to gain a better position!

Saturday practice:
In the morning I was about a second off the pace but in the last three sessions of the day we changed a set up and I went 1 second faster in one and another half a second quicker in the next! After starting half a lap behind the pack I managed to catch them and overtake some of them!

Sunday:
Heat one —> started 12th —> finished 23rd
Heat 2 —> started 7th —> finished 21st
Heat 4 —> started 23rd —> up to 19th after an unexpected incident involving another kart going into the side of me and then another with a kart going into the back of me and taking me off track —>finished 23rd
B final —> started 6th —> finished 5th
A final —> started 33rd —> up to 19th which is 15 places made up! —> finished 24th after a penalty for tramlines

Thank you to Tony for being my mechanic, as well as Kraft Motorsport for giving me lines and helping me improve. Potenza racing engines for the power and my family for funding my racing and my parents for driving me places!

April 28th I was up racing at Golspie practicing for the super series! Also I won the raffle of £100 which I was very happy about! Thank you to the organisers of Golspie for the money!

Heat one —> started 1st —> after having two spins I finished 6th with the fastest lap of the race!
heat 2 —> started 4th —> finished 2nd and I was fighting for first on the last lap!
Heat 3 —> started 7th —> finished 5th the track was starting to dry off
final —> started 6th —> finished 4th unfortunately I was off pace in the dry and trying to improve!

Thank you to Tony for being my mechanic, as well as Kraft Motorsport for giving me lines and helping me improve. Potenza racing engines for the power and my family for funding my racing and my parents for driving me places!
