A Huge Congratulations to CASC Member, Andy Mariner, who Bagged Himself a Hole-in-One on the 2nd Last Week! 👏⛳

A Fantastic Achievement - Although Andy did Manage to Time it Rather Conveniently… he went Straight off on Holiday! 😂🏖️

Which means his Fellow Members are still Waiting to Raise a Celebratory Glass! 🍻😉 We’ll just have to Save the Celebrations for When he’s Back!

PAST CAPTAINS’ CUP 2026

For this year’s competition we visited Worksop Golf Club ⛳️ where we were made very welcome by staff and members alike.

A very dry golf course made for a tough day, in particular the parched fairways where preferred lies were in place due to areas that were completely burnt off 😳

The result was a controversial one as the CURRENT Captain Nick Rusbridge won the day with 38 points. After some debate the group voted unanimously for him to take the trophy 🏆 although it was ironic that the trophy was damaged in transit and so we will probably have a newly renamed ‘Shirland Captains Cup’ for our return to Shirland in 2027.

2nd place - John Baker 35 pts
Joint 3rd - Richard Parsons, Richard Coates and Craig Peach (all with 32 pts).

With great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Shirland's past member and Greens Committee member, Andrew Bunting who had recently retired to Spain.
Andy took ill on the golf course this morning whilst playing golf with fellow Shirland members in Spain.
Our thoughts are with his wife, Samantha Bunting who has asked us to make this announcement.
We shall raise a glass for Andy in the Clubhouse at lunchtime, after tomorrow morning's competition.
