First Half Highlights
Sleetmoor started on the front foot with some fantastic passing and fluid football. Foxy was a constant threat up front, driving into the box early on and unlucky not to open the scoring. At the other end, Jess produced a brilliant bottom-corner save to keep Pride Park at bay.
After Kelsie went close with a shot just wide, Sleetmoor took a well-deserved lead. A brilliant through ball from Sienna set Foxy free, who finished calmly to make it 1-0 to Sleetmoor!
Unfortunately, Aaliya had to come off with an old leg injury and was replaced by Layla, who stepped up brilliantly, played well, and covered dynamic ground across the pitch.
Following the hydration break, a forced goalkeeper swap saw Immy step up into net after Jess tweaked her hamstring. Sleetmoor’s defense worked hard thanks to Syd, Freya, and Sienna, but Pride Park pulled ahead with two quick goals—one bouncing in off the crossbar, and a second slipping past Immy as she bravely came out to narrow the angle. Despite the setback, Immy made a brilliant bottom-corner save shortly after, and Draper and Foxy kept pushing with fantastic runs.
Second Half Battlers
Injury troubles mounted at half-time with Freya and Kelsie forced off, though a brave Aaliya felt okay to play again and returned to the pitch to inject huge energy.
Tactical Shifts: Amelia slotted seamlessly into defense, while Ellie moved to left wing—reluctantly at first, but she ended up absolutely bossing the flank!
Midfield & Defense: Soph and Nimmy held the middle of the park brilliantly together, while the passing combination between Ellie and Draper opened up space nicely.
Pride Park added two quick goals in the second half—with Jess getting an agonizing hand to the third, only for it to sneak in—to seal the win. However, the final scoreline certainly didn't tell the true story of the game.
Player of the Day Spirit
Every single player left everything on that hot astro turf today. Battling through multiple injuries and tough heat, Sleetmoor played with huge hearts, supported one another, and never gave up until the final whistle. Huge pride in the performance! 👏🔴🖤
