Outdoor clothing goes well beyond hiking and hitting the slopes.

When it comes to performance and protective clothing motorcycle helmets, jackets and gear get a real beating. Weather, oils, every dirt you can think of and it’s expected to take it all like a champ.

Alas, motorcycle gear still needs care in the same way hiking gear does. Whether that’s reproofing your jacket to avoid wet out and ultimately getting incredibly cold, cleaning and reproofing your boots to avoid deterioration, or even getting rid of that horrible wet/sweat odour in your helmet and gloves.

Care & repair is a decision we all get to make before we choose to replace any garment. We at Storm are no different & we’ve been sat on this one a while, an old Arc’teryx jacket that needed a full reseam. 🤷‍♂️ We have products for a lot of aftercare solutions but when it comes to technical taping & stitching, it’s much better placed in our good friends hands.

Have you heard enough about yet?

We didn’t think so. It was an absolute blast. 😃

Kendal is always full of great energy, like minded people and lovers of outdoors spaces and adventures. But what was great to see this year was the growing message around care and repair.🪡

We caught up with on their worn wear mission.

choosing to offer kit swap over their latest lines

having amazing conversations on Lived & Loved

representing the impact of garment longevity in the outdoor market
uk creating an open space to discuss how to scale mindfully and promote community impact and wellbeing

And so many other amazing messages for protecting outdoors spaces. to name but a few!

Community events have a special place in the outdoor world and if you didn’t get chance to attend this year keep your eye out for awesome talks, campaigns & adventures where you can involved and meet like minded folk tackling missions for both people and planet. If there’s ever two things to get people excited - 1. cheese or 2. trail running… well how about both? 🧀🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

are hosting their autumn race The Cheese & Crackers Trail here in the heart of Derbyshire on the 2nd of November.

Now we know what you’re wondering … what’s that got to do with Storm?

Well Trails For Good are a little different to your normal trail race host. They are all about protecting the awesome local trails we have all fallen in love with. You won’t find a medal for your hard earned efforts but local goodies in the form of cheese and port with a portion of your entry fee going directly into recovery project across Derbyshire. You’ll also find opportunities for kit repair across their events, maybe you’ve got a jacket that needs a re-proof, no problem, how about a hole in those expensive supershoes? Get them sorted for their next adventure.

This race is what you make it, with a long and short route available, it’s marshalled and time chipped so whether your new to the trails or veteran dripping in trail armor, enjoy a spectacular event and do some good whilst doing it.

We’re still on a huge high from the Big Shakeout 2025 hosted by ⛰️

The festival was jam packed with a wide variety of activities, talks, music and food! It was an awesome opportunity to talk about care & repair whilst raising an incredible amount for the Alpkit Foundation. A true pleasure to be apart of. 🏕️
