Alford Squash Club Local Community Squash Club Alford Squash Club was formed in 1978. We are always looking to recruit new members, so please feel free to contact us about joining.

We have two courts with state of the art LED lighting, both male and female changing facilities alongside a large viewing gallery.

As we are about to start the 2nd quarter of this century, why not make it a resolution to play squash (preferably in the first year) of the 2nd quarter. Just a thought.....

Just to let you know, the club is open 365 days a year.

Membership is very modest at just £40 per year. Yes, per year, not per month ....

Take a look at our website for an application form to join us - we are a friendly club.

We look forward to welcoming you to the club now, or in 2026

Alford Squash Club would like to wish everyone a very happy Christmas and we look forward to seeing you in the new year, when you need to shed a few pounds 😉

Alford Squash Club would like to thank Alford Sports Hall for their very generous donation to our club funds following the 'winding up' of ASHA.

This is very much appreciated.

The funds will pay for the defibrillator that will be housed inside the club, and go towards the contactless payment machines that we hope to purchase in the new year.

Our defibrillator and wall cabinet has been purchased from Safelincs Fire & Safety.

Thanks again.....

Dear Member,

The committee are disappointed to have to return to the subject of damage to the recently laid court floors. Despite previous reminders, some member(s) and/or their invited guests are still wearing footwear on court which are not non-marking. The Safelincs court in particular is covered in black marks which are proving not possible to remove. In addition, with the amount of dirt that is on both courts it would seem that some members are also using footwear that has been worn outside.

The committee worked incredibly hard to secure funding for new court floors (which are very expensive) and we will shortly embark on the next stage of renovating our Club. It is massively disappointing that a small number of people are choosing to ignore common sense rules.

Can we please ask that it stops immediately – if you do not have proper squash footwear (that have not been worn outside) then please do not use the courts until you do. If you are playing with somebody who is not wearing the correct footwear then, as a member, we all have a duty to point this out and decline to play until they do.

I am sorry to have to send yet another email on this subject and let us hope it is the last one. We know the vast majority of the members adhere to this rule and help look after the facilities. Additional funding has been secured and we are excited that the changing rooms will soon be having a revamp as we continually look to improve our Club.

Thank you.

Tonight we welcomed 2 young professional players to our club and watched a phenomenal exhibition match between Rhys Evans and Matt Gregory. They were accompanied by Dean Gregory and Felix Frixou who gave members many tips and tricks in useful one to one coaching sessions. (L-R Matt, Dean, Felix, Rhys). Thanks guys.

I am delighted to announce that we are holding a Club Night on Saturday, 18th January.

The evening will get underway at 5pm with some coaching drills that all members can take part in regardless of experience. This will be led by Felix Feroux who is a hugely experienced squash coach/player.

At around 6pm we will then be able to see two of the country’s up and coming youngsters show us all how it is done as they play an ‘exhibition’ match which I am sure will make great viewing.

At around 7pm there will be refreshments etc. and we anticipate the evening will finish by 8pm or a little earlier.

This is a free event and members can bring a guest if you wish.

So we can get an idea on numbers it would be appreciated if you could send me a brief message to let me know if you will be attending and bringing a guest or not.

We have just spent over £30k at the club to include new floors, so I cannot stress enough just how important it is for members to only wear non marking trainers on court and that you don't arrive wearing those either. Thank you.
