West Dunbartonshire Amateur Swim Club A competitive swimming club that train at the Vale of Leven and Clydebank Leisure Centre pools.

West Dunbartonshire Amateur Swimming Club (WDASC) is a competitive swimming club with squads training at the Vale of Leven and Clydebank Leisure Centre swimming pools. Established since 1914 we have a rich history of success, competing at every level from Mini League through to the Commonwealth Games. Our Vision is to inspire individuals to be the best version they can be by creating an environment focusing on; excelling, enjoyment and lifelong participation. Making people feel valued and be willing to build a club where every person counts. Working closely with local Learn to Swim WDASC is run by an elected Committee of parents volunteers. WDASC has a full time Head Coach, Jimmy Orr, who oversees the coaching team and swim squads from Development through to Youth and Senior Divisions.

With club champs just around the corner and swimmers registered we now need you to sign up …. Don’t worry not to swim ( unless you are keen to join the parents race … more details to follow!)

We need your help to make this event run and give the swimmers a brilliant experience, so whether you are a seasoned pro volunteer or totally new to the club please sign up to help, all and any help is very welcome and much appreciated.

Over the weekend, our masters team headed to Tollcross for the Scottish National Masters championships! This was the first taste of racing for them and they got the season off to a cracking start! It was also a welcome back to racing for coach Declan as he came out of retirement and competed for the first time since 2019!

Well done to all those for competing and for medals won:

Tom - Gold 400IM, Bronze 200 IM, Bronze 100 back

Ludo - silver 100 free, silver 100 fly, silver 50 free

Emma - gold 50 fly, gold 100 free, gold 50 back, Gold 50 free and a new age group masters record! Emma also won top Female in her age group 👏
Craig - Gold 400IM, Bronze 200 IM, Gold 100 fly

4x50 mixed free: Emma, Ludo, Ella, Declan - Silver
4x50 male medley: Tom, John, Ludo, Declan - Bronze

Scottish Summer Meet 2026

What a weekend in Aberdeen!

We kicked things off on Thursday with national debuts for Archie and Nieve in the 1500m Freestyle. Archie put together a strong swim, narrowly missing his PB, while Nieve smashed hers by an incredible 18 seconds! 🔥

Friday was our busiest day, with Jay, Ella, Nieve, Antoine and Lia all in action. There were PBs for Nieve, Lia and Antoine, with Lia and Antoine both making the finals! 💪

Saturday saw more solid performances, before Ella produced a brilliant 50m Freestyle swim, taking 0.5 seconds off her PB to finish 11th and become first reserve for the final.

After a delicious team meal at it was time for one final day of racing.

Sunday brought more excitement, with Jay adding another PB in the 400m IM and Lia, Ella and Antoine all back in action.

The drama wasn't over yet!

Both Ella and Antoine earned themselves swim-offs for places in the finals! Ella took another 0.5 seconds off her PB and was agonisingly touched out by just 0.02 seconds after a fantastic race against a swimmer. Antoine also gave it everything but came up against a strong opponent from

It's a sad day for everyone at West Dun as we say goodbye and wish John the very best of luck!

In just a couple of weeks, John heads to America to begin an exciting new chapter on a football scholarship.

John has been part of the West Dun family for over 10 years. Throughout that time, he's been a fantastic teammate, a great character around the club, and someone who has made a real impact on both swimmers and coaches alike. He'll be greatly missed by everyone.

We couldn't be prouder of everything you've achieved, John, and we can't wait to see what the future holds.
