Last night, Liam Henry boxed on the Lochend Boxing Club home show against home boxer Devon Hendry, the current 2026 Scottish Elite Champion.

It was a fantastic contest between two top athletes.

Liam started strongly, catching Devon with a cracking right hand that rocked him early. Liam dominated the first half of the opening round, although Devon showed his class by battling back and enjoying success of his own as the round progressed.

Round 2 saw both boxers work more at long range in what was a very competitive and closely contested round. We felt Liam just edged it by landing the cleaner, more effective power punches.

In Round 3, Liam produced some outstanding boxing, dominating around two and a half minutes of the round. He had Devon on the back foot for long periods, working well to the body before bringing his shots back upstairs with great effect.

In the end, Liam lost a 3-2 split decision, but it was a brilliant bout between two talented young fighters and a contest that showcased amateur boxing at its very best.

When the final bell sounded, the crowd rose to their feet in appreciation—a standing ovation for both lads. Even the referee commented afterwards on what a tremendous contest it had been.

A huge thank you to Terry and all the coaches at Lochend for having us. True gentlemen and fantastic hosts.

Before the bout, Liam said he wanted this to be his final contest in the amateur ranks, and with that chapter now complete, he is ready to make the move into professional boxing.

As Liam begins his professional journey, we are seeking sponsors who may be interested in helping with the costs involved, including medicals, equipment, licensing, and training expenses. If you or your business would like to support a dedicated and talented athlete at the start of his professional career, please get in touch.

🥊 Onto the next chapter.

Big night ahead for Liam Henry this weekend on the Lochend Boxing Club home show as he takes on the 2026 Elite Scottish Champion, Devon Hendry 🥊

Liam’s had a strong camp and great preparation going into this bout, getting quality sparring rounds in with Luke McFadyean at Barrhead Boxing Club, and Xander Savage & Axel Ngoy at Goodfellows Boxing Club.

Hard work done — now it’s time to perform. Let’s go Liam 👊🔥

Last Saturday, Liam Parfrey boxed on the Shire Boxing Club home show, topping the bill against fellow Shire boxer Callum Dudgeon.

It was an entertaining bout from the opening bell to the final round. Callum applied constant pressure throughout, coming forward relentlessly and looking to land big shots, while Liam produced the cleaner work and tried to keep the fight at range for most of the contest. Despite Liam’s sharp boxing, Callum’s aggressive style and ability to close the distance quickly made it a very competitive fight.

A great effort from both lads, with Liam taking the win by a 3–2 split decision.

We had Liam Parfrey boxing on the Barrhead home show on Saturday night. Liam was up against home boxer Joe Devenay in a tough contest from start to finish.

Liam set a great pace from the opening bell and kept the pressure on throughout the bout. Joe was a tough opponent who landed a few good counters during the contest and made Liam work hard for the win.

Liam’s work rate and determination were enough to secure the victory, winning on a 2-1 split decision.

Well done Liam — another strong performance and good experience gained.

We had Arran Sweeney & Liam Parfrey boxing on the IMC Project home show on Friday night.

First up was Arran against Jack Clifford from IMC. Arron set a great pace from the first bell in an all-action, non-stop bout right through to the final bell. The coaches felt Arran’s volume of scoring punches to the target area was enough to secure the win, but it wasn’t to be, as Arran lost a 3-2 split decision.

Next up was Liam Parfrey topping the bill against home boxer Anton Jack. Liam boxed well at long range, landing plenty of scoring punches on target throughout the contest. Anton looked to hold and punch consistently, but the coaches felt Liam had done more than enough to secure a dominant win against the home boxer. Unfortunately, Liam lost on a unanimous decision — the judges must have got the corners mixed up.

Great effort from both our boxers and a big improvement from their previous bouts. Proud of the performances and the progress shown by both lads.

Golden Gloves Championship update

Liam was boxing in the semi final on Sunday against Hercules Kamden from Glasgow City Boxing Club, The coach’s thought Liam did enough to secure the win but the judges seen otherwise Liam lost a 3-2 spilt decision.

Amazing effort from Liam leading up to the championships just back at the club on January after being in Canada working since last August not much training for the past 5 months puts in 8 weeks hard training at the club and beats 2 good boxers at the championships and lost in close spilt decision in the semi final.

A huge effort and plenty to be proud of. On to the next one! 🥊

Great win today for Liam in the quarter-finals of the Golden Gloves Elite Championships 🥊

It wasn’t his best performance, but he showed real grit and secured a unanimous decision victory over Sparta Boxing Club’s Fabrizio Di Battista. Sometimes getting the job done on a tough day says a lot about a boxer’s character.

Liam is back in action tomorrow in the semi-finals, where he’ll face Hercules Kamden from Glasgow City Boxing Club.

On to the next one 👊🥊
