πŸ† BVR WIN OF THE WEEK β€” RAVI PATEL πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

Sydney Marathon 2026… what an experience. πŸ’™πŸ’›

Sydney certainly pulled out all the stops β€” from meeting the stars and fireworks at the Opera House to incredible cheer zones and even pop-up bars open from the early morning. πŸŽ†πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

But once the celebrations were over, there was still a marathon to run β€” and this was no easy one. A tough, rolling course with some seriously testing inclines.

Ravi went into it knowing he isn’t quite the runner he was a few years ago, so he set himself one goal:

🎯 Sub 3:30

Finish time: 3:29. Mission accomplished. πŸ‘πŸ”₯

But the clock wasn’t the highlight of Ravi’s day.

He got to share the Sydney Marathon experience with his youngest son β€” who crossed the line in an incredible 2:51! 🀯

As Ravi put it, seeing his son achieve that took away any pain he was feeling and replaced it with an enormous amount of pride. ❀️

Two brilliant marathon performances. One very proud dad. And a memory they’ll share forever.

Huge congratulations to Ravi and his son from everyone at BVR! πŸ’™πŸ’›πŸ‘

πŸ’™πŸ’› BVR Running Spotlight – Stuie πŸ’›πŸ’™

Running has been far more than just miles for Stuie.

After being diagnosed with ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome at just 19, he spent a long time learning how to manage his health and the impact it had on his mental wellbeing. Discovering Couch to 5K gave him a way to gradually rebuild his fitness, confidence and sense of what he was capable of.

There have been ups and downs along the way, but running has remained something Stuie can come back to β€” helping him maintain his stamina, physical health and, importantly, his mental wellbeing.

πŸƒ Favourite distance: 10K β€” challenging enough, but β€œnot so long that you want to throw yourself in a ditch halfway round!” πŸ˜‚

πŸ’ͺ Biggest challenge: Finding consistency around long, irregular working hours and his health β€” and learning that taking a break or having an easier week isn’t failure.

πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄β€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ Next goal: Stuie is now beginning his triathlon journey, with a huge goal on the horizon β€” a 70.1 Ironman in 2027!

πŸ’™ What keeps him motivated? The positive impact running has on his mental health, the chance to explore new places, meet new people and, of course, chase those PBs.

And when asked the best thing about joining BVR?

β€œThe people. One thousand percent.” πŸ’›

For Stuie, the support and sense of community β€” both in person and online β€” is what makes BVR special.

From Couch to 5K to an Ironman 70.1 goal… we can’t wait to see where the journey takes you next, Stuie! πŸ‘πŸ’™πŸ’›

Let’s show Stuie some BVR love in the comments πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ’™πŸ’›

πŸ’™ A small tribute to just some of our incredible BVR Run Leaders. πŸ’›

Behind every club run are volunteers who give up their time to plan routes, support runners, offer encouragement, and help create the welcoming atmosphere that makes BVR so special.

A special thank you for making newcomers feel at ease from their very first run and for inspiring runners of all abilities to keep showing up and enjoying the journey.

This reel may only feature a few of our fantastic leaders, but our appreciation extends to every BVR Run Leader. Thank you for everything you doβ€”you are a huge part of what makes our club such a great place to run. πŸ’™
