24‑Hour Indoor Triathlon

A huge effort over the last 24 hours, with Capt Tuhey and SSgt Dales representing RAPTC Martial Arts as part of the Army Sport team in the indoor triathlon - bike, run and row.

The event was organised by Lt Col (Retd) Dave Campy, Army Sport, in conjunction with Clancy and SSE, raising money for Heads Up, supporting mental health across the forces community.

The Army team went head‑to‑head with two teams from Clancy and SSE to see who could cover the most distance over the full 24 hours, and the Army Sport Team came out on top.

Outstanding effort by everyone involved and everyone who’s donated.

Army Sport - 24‑Hour Charity Triathlon (Happening Now)

Capt Tuhey, Chair of RAPTC Martial Arts, is currently on the part of the team taking on the 24‑hour charity triathlon at the ASPT, Aldershot, in support of Heads Up, the forces mental‑health charity.

If you’re in the Aldershot area, serving or a martial artist, come down to Fox Lines and get involved. Bring your phys kit, and jump in for an hour on the bike, rower, or treadmill, to help keep the team moving and support the charity.

Capt Tuhey and Sgt Webster recently attended the Army Martial Arts event, supporting the senior leadership within the Army Martial Arts Association and Army Sport. It was a great opportunity for senior leadership to recognise the exceptional work happening across all martial disciplines.

Both Capt Tuhey and Sgt Webster were representing the British Army Muay Thai team, with Muay Thai now uplifted to Category 2 status. Sgt Webster has been exceptional in driving the sport forward and helping secure that recognition.

Sgt Webster, supported by SSgt Cooney, has also delivered an outstanding training camp for Muay Thai fighters of all levels this week, and has qualified both Level 1 and Level 2 coaches, helping ensure Muay Thai can be delivered across the Army, and continue to grow the sport.

Huge congrats to SSgt (SSI) Dales RAPTC on his well‑deserved promotion to Judo Brown Belt (1st Kyu) - a massive milestone - well deserved! A talented athlete and a fierce competitor.

And a congratulations to Capt (MAA) Tuhey RAPTC on successfully passing his British Judo Association Level 2 Coaching Course. He now holds Level 2 coaching qualifications in both Judo and BJJ through their national governing bodies. An Outstanding achievement ..!!

Massive congratulations to SSgts Lockey and Parker on their well‑deserved selection for promotion to WO2.

Both are outstanding leaders within the RAPTC Martial Arts team, and they play a huge role in driving standards across Army Judo.

Great to see Capt (MAA) Tuhey supporting and teaching with the RAF Valley BJJ Team in Wales. As the RAPTC Martial Arts Chair, and a keen martial artist who’s passionate about getting people involved in all martial arts, he’s now working alongside the team, with the aim of planning a joint BJJ and Judo training camp in May. Capt Tuhey will be helping with the delivery of both disciplines alongside RAF grapplers and judokas. More details to follow.

CONGRATULATIONS!!🥋

SSgt (SSI) Ollie Dales has been awarded his brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu after seven years of consistent dedication and achievement. Throughout his journey, he medalled at every belt level in the Army Championships, Inter-Services competitions, and many of the UK’s top tournaments.

Most recently, as a purple belt, he secured international victories at the IBJJF European and World Championships, competing at the highest level of the sport.

Beyond his competitive success, SSgt Dales continues to play a pivotal role within the Army and the RAPTC Martial Arts Committee, contributing significantly to the development and promotion of martial arts across the Corps and British army.

🎉 Congratulations to Sgt (SI) Page RAPTC on his promotion to BJJ purple belt

This achievement is a huge milestone, typically taking around six years of consistent training, competition, and dedication.

Capt (MAA) Tuhey was kindly invited by the head coach to teach at the club, and after the session both he and the head coach surprised Sgt Page with his promotion. A proud moment that reflects Mikey’s hard work and commitment.
