Just the one car out this weekend, with Jake Butler #14 spending some family time and Connor Craven #123 on paddock duty at Oulton Park with the Time-attack series.

So it’s down to Danny Maddox #905 to continue his rich run of form and compete in back to back race days at High Edge Raceway, Buxton.

Unfortunately one to forget at Aldershot yesterday. 11th in Heat 1, then put into the tyres in Heat 2…… game over !
On a positive, it was great to spend some time away from work with my colleague, friend and member of the veteran British speed skating team, Glyn Perkins.
We now have 3 weeks to repair the car for Hednesford on the 19th July….. The National Championship.

Connor is back in the #123 Oval Legend at Aldershot Raceway tomorrow hoping to build on his competitive performance last time out at Eastbourne.
With 18 cars booked in and Connor starting off the blue grade, the racing should be close and frantic.

It’s race day at Skegness for Jake Butler and Danny Maddox today, with both drivers hoping to continue to build on their results from Buxton 2 weeks ago.
#905 Danny finally found form last time out and will be in contention again this afternoon.
#14 Jake raced to his best finish of 3rd before clashing hard with the wall on turn 3. Following a complete rebuild and still working on the car yesterday, he is eager to get back in the seat. Big Thank you to Liam Conway for the major repairs to Rebel #14.
A different weekend for #123 Connor Craven who is on duty with the Mini Challenge series, meaning he missed the Northampton meeting last night in the Legend.

Congratulations to #123

A really solid performance from Connor last night at Eastbourne, in the #123 Oval Legend.
Improving with every lap and finding the limits of not only the car but himself. Finishing P6 in Heat 1, P5 in Heat 2 and P7 in the final having glanced the wall mid race.
Only 2 weeks for Connor to fix the damage before Aldershot on the 26th June.

Mindless damage or Stock Car racing ?

Following Jakes 3rd in heat 2, the cars lined up for the Stu Smith Memorial final with Jake taking his position 3rd row inside. Off to a good start, keeping position and avoiding getting caught up until a racing incident in turn 4 spun Jake around, luckily avoided by the oncoming pack.
Now a lap down and driving for a finish, Jake dutifully keeps out of harms way and moves over to let the leaders continue unhindered. For reasons best known by himself, Jake is pushed the length of the back straight by the 4th placed car and fired into turn 3. The result of this mindless act is extensive damage to the #14 rebel and physical damage to Jake. Once again faced with a repair bill of circa £1500, we shall try our best to get Jake back out for the next meeting.
I am trying to find an unbiased way of reporting this incident, but see no reason for a 4th placed driver to act so irrationally towards a fellow driver a lap down.
I shall let you decide for yourselves !
