⚡️23 Days apart⚡️

Cut is starting to show for sure!

In the left photo I was still happy with how I looked, definitely never felt self conscious but just wanted to cut a slight bit and become a tad lighter!

Currently sitting on ~2700kcals, going from 93kg to ~89/90kg.

Considering the cut, my lifts have gotten stronger 👀 really starting to love training again since moving from Powerlifting!

All thanks to .uk for the advice, go give the page a look 💪🏼

⚡️New Name, Same Logo, Tad More Colour⚡️

May I introduce you to the new name ⚡️Samson Performance⚡️

Before hand we had the name of ‘Scientia’, which was Latin for ‘Science’. Whereas I am still science based, I’ll be focussing more on performance, whether individual or team sports

Stay tuned for more content 💪🏼

⚡️Chains and Bands⚡️

> Why Bands?

Bands add a form of accommodating resistance, allows you to develop your eccentric control, helps eliminate your sticking points and increase of force production. Band tension should accommodate to ~25% of the weight you lift.

> Why Chains?

Adding chains allows you to overload the weight at the top of the lift. For example, if the bar is loaded with 100kg and you have 2x 10kg chains, overall weight would be 120kg at the top, however, at the bottom of the lift it would be 100kg due to the chains being relaxed on the floor. This can help develop your overall drive in your lift.

Both great accessories to use when training if you’re really at a pleatau or are struggling with lockouts at the top of your lifts. Why not use them to better your training and mix things up!

⚡️Pre Conjugate Wk1⚡️

1️⃣ COMP Squat (Side View) - 105kg x5 @ 53% of 1RM (Programmed @ 45%)
2️⃣ COMP Squat (Rear View) - 105kg x5 @ 53% of 1RM
3️⃣ COMP Deadlift - Final Warm-up of 120kg x1
4️⃣ COMP Deadlift (Side View) - 130kg x5 @ 60% of 1RM
5️⃣ COMP Deadlift (Front View) - 130kg x5 @ 60% of 1RM

Easy lifts in comparison, but returning from injury and Covid so light work is the way forward! Good to get some COMP style lifts in before starting Conjugate!

Aim is to compete in April at Astor, Dover; all prep is for then!

2022 goal? 600kg total in SBD;
Squat = 220kg
Bench = 140kg
Deadlift = 240kg

⚡️Snatch Grip RDL⚡️

100kg x10

⚡️Muscles Worked:
- Latissimus Dorsi
- Hamstrings
- Trapezius (Traps)
- Erectors (Lower Back)
- Scapulae and Rhomboids
- Gluteal Muscles
- Forearms (Grip)

⚡️Why do them?⚡️
- Increase Back Strength, Thickness and Muscular Development
- Improve Pulling Strength for Snatches, Cleans and Deadlifts
- Better Back Tightness for Heavy Squats

Using straps allows to emphasise the strength in the back, hips and hamstrings instead of worrying too much about the grip, however, it’s beneficial for Weightlifters to do this exercise without…..shame I’m a Powerlifter 👀

Very taxing movement, hence my face in the second photo 😳
