Hi everyone,
I have just about recovered from my charity day! I hope those that played had an enjoyable day, the good weather certainly helped!
I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who played, made donations, bought raffle tickets and those who placed bids on the auction.
I am extremely proud to announce that proceeds from the day, donations, the raffle and the auction have raised just over £15,500!
This is way above and beyond what I could ever of imagined and I can’t begin to tell you how much it means to me to be able to present this amount of money to Alder Hey Children’s Charity.
I would also like to say thank you to those that helped me make the day possible and for it to run like clockwork! Firstly, thank you to Di Scholes & Graham Scholes, Helena McNeil & Pat McNeil, Steve Collier, Anne Smith, Bridget Gray, Gillian Ditchfield, my mum & dad (Liz & Chris) who all helped with the registration desk, raffle ticket sales, starting duties and witnessing the near hole in one attempts on the 9th hole for insurance purposes! Sadly no one quite managed it. Also a big thanks go to Reay for helping me to organise the day, George and Greg for helping out with the set up and working in the pro shop on the day. Another thank you goes to to Laura Victoria for helping preparations for the day particularly all 168 gift bags!
Also a massive thanks to Sam Craigon for doing Beat the Pro on the 13th for what ended up being over 7 hours! A great effort and he raised an amazing £880 just by himself on the day!
I would like to thank the golf club for allowing me to host it on a Sunday at a busy time and thanks to Neil for his support throughout it all as the date, format and planning had to be adjusted on several occasions to follow the current government guidelines! Thanks go to Matt for putting on an excellent BBQ and to all the staff in the clubhouse that made the day possible.
Finally I would like to say a massive thanks to Peter Riley. Peter was the brains behind all this and helped me to organise every element of the day and without his help we wouldn’t have been able to raise such an amazing amount of money.
Thank you for all the support.
