Wow I really don't know where to start so maybe get a cuppa it's going to be a long post.
Yesterday was the toughest thing I have EVER done. After an early alarm call 3.45am we left and my lovely hubby dropped me off at Broadway to catch the early shuttle that took me to the start. There was then a very chilly long wait before I set off @7.45am.
Unfortunately @3 miles I fell over but I picked myself up and set off again but then at about 5 miles I was caught out by a tree route and took another tumble. This one was worse I hurt my hip as well as collecting a collection of grazes. Still onwards although it was clear to me there was now going to be more walking and less running.
I limped on when yet again just before the halfway point another tumble. My hip gave way on a downhill section and I tumbled down a couple of woodland steps.
My confidence took a huge hit at this point but I reached the half way pit stop and after an exchange of messages with John and a good cry I reminded myself why I was doing this and limped on.
At Winchcombe I was welcomed by John, Megan and Rhys and after hugs and another cry we walked together for a while before they left me to hobble on.
The plan had been they would meet me in Broadway but on a tricky rocky downhill section yet again I fell this time grazing my knee so after a tearful call to John they came to meet me just before the final pit stop.My knee was cleaned up and then with Rhys for company we we set off for the final 5 miles.
The pain was awful but Rhys keep me going encouraging me every step of the way.
We caught up with John and Megan in Broadway and then on for the final couple of uphill miles to the Tower.
Finally the last gate and the finish line in sight. Here Rhys stopped and let me finish on my own.
Hugs, tears and smiles at the end but mostly just sheer exhaustion.
I had so many messages of support during the day I thank you all from the bottom of my heart it really means so very much to know you were cheering me on and sorry for the late night ( I know a few followed my tracker to the very end).
Extra big thanks to Clare who was with me via messages all day and obviously to John, Megan and Rhys I love you so so much.
🏃♀️😬💪🙏😘
