⚫⚪ MATCH REPORT – U13 Wolves 🐺⚫⚪

Nova Ad Astra 4 – 6 Albrighton FC Wolves 🙌⚽

What a way to start the season! Our U13 Wolves came away with a fantastic 6–4 opening weekend victory after an action-packed game of football.

Nova struck early, but the Wolves showed great composure and responded almost immediately, with Leo finishing off some excellent passing and movement. Further goals from Finn and Oliver helped Albrighton take a 3–2 lead into half-time. 💪

The second half brought plenty more drama as Nova fought their way back into the game, eventually making it 5–4. But the Wolves held their nerve, with Leo completing his hat-trick to seal all three points and a brilliant start to the new season! 🥳⚽

Player of the Match: Oliver ⭐ – a real captain’s performance, leading by example throughout and fully deserving of the award. 👏

A special mention also goes to Alfie, who pushed Oliver all the way for Player of the Match after an outstanding performance on his Albrighton Wolves debut. 💪🐺

⚫⚪ MATCH REPORT – U14s Mixed ⚫⚪

A positive performance from our U14s to kick off the season, with plenty to build on as this new-look squad continues to gel together. ⚽💪

The team put in a huge amount of effort to get themselves in front, but just lost a little belief and allowed the opposition back into the game. That’s something we’re sure will come as the season progresses and, before long, hopefully we’ll have a goal-scoring machine on our hands! 😂⚽

It was brilliant to see the new players beginning to settle into the team, while the substitutes worked incredibly hard and made an impact when given their opportunity. 👏

There were plenty of individual positives too. Zack worked his socks off and caused the opposition defence all sorts of problems, getting his reward with a well-deserved goal.

Henry also deserves a special mention after grabbing two fantastic goals, backed up by a relentless work rate throughout. 👏👏👏

Player of the Match: Charlie ⭐

Charlie produced a fantastic performance and was the coaches’ choice for Player of the Match — a decision also backed up by the opposition coaches, who selected him as their standout player too! 👏👏👏

Randlay U16s 4 – 3 Albrighton U16s

A frustrating result after a fantastic first-half performance from the boys.

Albrighton got off to a flying start, taking the lead inside the opening minute as Lordan’s route-one ball found Kusa, who calmly slotted past the keeper. ⚽

Randlay equalised on nine minutes, but the response was excellent. Harvey laid the ball off for Kusa, who curled a superb effort into the top corner to restore our lead. 🔥

Just before the break, Mason produced a brilliant run down the right before delivering an early cross for Dan, who slid in at the back post to make it 3–1.

HT: Randlay 1 – 3 Albrighton

The second half proved a different story. With Dylan making his debut in goal, some understandable nerves crept in and Randlay capitalised, scoring three long-range efforts to turn the game around.

Despite the result, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance, including debuts for Harvey, Samson, Jackson, Jack, Reuben, Ryan and Dylan. 👏⚫⚪

⚫⚪ MATCH REPORT – U16s Girls ⚫⚪

Berkswich 1 – 4 Albrighton FC 🙌⚽

A fantastic start to the new season for our U16s girls, coming from behind to secure a brilliant 4–1 away win! 💪

There were a few first-game nerves in the opening half and we went into the break 1–0 down. After a half-time chat and a slight change of formation, the girls settled into the game, looked much more composed and started playing the football we know they can.

An equaliser almost straight from the second-half kick-off gave us the confidence to push on, and from there the girls looked dangerous going forward and assured defensively, adding another three goals to complete a great comeback 👏

Player of the Match: Amy – a tireless performance both up front and on the wing, with her running and work rate causing the Berkswich defence problems throughout 💪

Opposition voted player of the match: Emilia – recognised for a brilliant battling performance, with the opposition coach also highlighting the quality of her corners 👏

A great way to start the season and even better to have the girls back out playing football again! ⚫⚪
