Was great to be at Northwestern Hockey Camp Canada in North Lanarkshire hosted by Lanarkshire Lightning Junior Ice Hockey Club this week.
Got to sharpen one of the best power skating coach’s skates, Brian Cooke (aka Cookie) with our 3/8 fire stone.
He is also the owner of Cooke Elite Hockey Training and the power skating coach for the Anaheim Ducks junior ice hockey club.
He said the sharpen from the Sparx machine was fantastic and would invest in a machine for his own company as it was that good and would recommend.
If the Sparx machine sharpen is said to be awesome by this amazing power skating coach then is it good enough for anyone.

A little info on why you need to have a smooth finish on the blade itself every time.

We’ve found that some of the most experienced manual technician sharpeners can hit Even Edges and Sharp Edges while missing on the Smooth Finish.

The smoother the surface we can create, the less friction or drag we’ll have when the blades are gliding on ice. If you’ve ever experienced skates that feel sluggish, a rough surface finish could be slowing you down.

I know personally it felt strange at first as I was that used to feeling my blade being sluggish and having to put a lot of effort to stride after a manual sharpen and the none smooth finish is the reason why. With the Sparx sharpen you will have less fatigue in your legs as you will be gliding better and smoother with a guaranteed smooth finish on the blade every time.

Nice little review from Coach Jeremy about the Sparx skate sharpener.
Coach Jeremy is well known for YouTube videos on helping people with hockey and he has his web page www.howtohockey.com

He uses his skates on synthetic ice and normal ice all the time, so constantly using the Sparx machine to put the perfect edge back on his skates.

You might know him as the guy who mic’d up his kid on a hockey practice.
