Adlington Angling Centre are proud to announce that after months of meetings and hard work behind the scenes that they will be teaming up with one of the biggest names in fishing in Daiwa UK once again as they will be continuing their sponsorship of the hugely popular Adlington Angling Centre N'ZON Feeder Champs 2023 in what is a huge coup not only for this forward thinking business but for the area as a whole as the event will come back to the area much bigger and better than ever before!
Thanks to Southport and District Anglers Association Adlington Angling Centre have been granted permission to hold this hugely successful event on both Anglezarke & Upper Rivington reservoir were once again the hottest ticket in town will see 200 of the best feeder anglers the country has to offer compete in this event to see who will have the honour of being crowned The Adlington Angling Centre N'ZON Feeder Champ 2023.

Not only are all the anglers competing to have their name etched in history on the prestigious trophy but there will be over £5000 in prize money to be won plus Daiwa Sports have also donated all the usual fantastic fishing tackle prizes which will also be up for grabs for all the anglers lucky enough to get through to the final.

The format of the of the tournament is staying the same as last year were all the competitors will compete over five rounds of qualifiers in their quest to book their golden ticket to the two day final where all the anglers will cross rods in the battle as they compete for the honour of being crowned
The Adlington Angling Centre Feeder Champ 2023 on the following dates -

Round 1 qualifier Saturday 6th May
Round 2 qualifier Saturday 27th May
Round 3 qualifier Saturday 17th June
Round 4 qualifier Saturday 8th July
Round 5 qualifier Saturday 5th August

The two day final will be on Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th September

This years prizes will be -

1st £1500
2nd £800
3rd £500
4th £400
5th £300
6th £200

Daiwa Sports are also kindly giving away all the usual great fishing tackle prizes for all the successful finalists

On the weekend of the two day final we will once again be splitting each lake into four sections of five anglers on both days who will be fishing for £80 per section (The sections will be paid out via default)

On each of the five qualifiers as well as the final there will also be an optional £20 Super Pool run by the anglers on the bank, in all of the qualifying rounds they will have 20 anglers fishing each reservoir consecutively with the top four anglers who catch the heaviest nets of fish on each water moving forward to fish the final on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th September were a total of 40 anglers will compete fishing Anglezarke or Upper Rivington reservoir on the Saturday before moving onto the other reservoir on the Sunday were the winner will again be decided by the total weight of fish caught and not a points system.

The draw for for what lake you will be fishing on will take place the night before each match on Facebook Live from Adlington Angling Centre.
Then on the morning of the match if you draw on Anglezarke reservoir you will meet on the Back Lane car park at 9am but if you draw Upper Rivington you will meet on Horrobin Lane at 9am where the match officials will do the draw themselves before directing each angler to their home for the day.
The 'ALL IN' will be cried out at 10.30am and the match will continue until the 'ALL OUT' at 4pm where we will find out which lucky anglers have booked their golden tickets to the final.
As always all the weighing in will be done by two people only with NOBODY following the official's with the scales and all the results will be posted later on the Adlington Angling Centre page on Facebook for all to see.

RULES FOR THE EVENT –

* DOUBLE HOOK IS ALLOWED
* BOMB IS ALLOWED
* NO METHOD FEEDER
* NO PELLET FEEDER
* NO BALLING IN OR CATAPULTING IN ALL FEED MUST BE PUT IN VIA A FEEDER ONLY
* NO BAITING UP BEFORE THE ALL IN
* IF YOU ARE CLIPPING UP OR FINDING YOUR DEPTH BEFORE THE ALL IN IT MUST BE DONE WITH A BOMB
* YOU MUST CAST YOUR FEEDER OVER YOUR HEAD (NO DOBBING)
* ALL FEEDERS MUST LAY ON THE RESERVOIR BED
* PIKE DON'T COUNT

Any rule breaking will result in instant disqualification from the event

All that you lucky anglers have to do to secure one of the golden tickets is one of the following three things -

If previous years are anything to go by be quick as these 200 tickets usually sell out very quickly so don't hesitate and get booking!

If your not lucky enough to get a golden ticket don't worry as I will also be putting names down on a reserve list as each year tickets always become available due to people not being able to make it.

If any of you tip fishing fans from the area want to come down to the reservoirs to watch the cream of the countries top feeder anglers compete over this great competition you are more than welcome to watch but please make sure you stay behind the walls at the top of each dam wall to give the anglers the space they need, it is also a great vantage point to see all the action as the anglers cross rods in battle.
Alternatively if you wish to enter the tournament tickets cost £35 and are non refundable which can only be bought from Adlington Angling Centre.

The one main change to ticket sales this year will be that if you manage to get through to the final it will be the anglers responsibility to sell any unwanted tickets on themselves but they must notify Andy Gibbs at the shop of any name changes for all the qualifiers where tickets have been sold on.

Im sure a great deal of you out there remember the hugely successful Adlington Angling Centre FREE Young Anglers match that the shop first brought to the area eight years ago to encourage newcomers into this great sport we all love where 8 keen young anglers fished the first event, the second year it saw 29 attend, fast forward that to the 2021 and the event was fished by a total of 49 youngsters which just shows the popularity of the sport within the younger generation from around the borough and how much fishing is thriving amongst them.

With all that in mind, plus due to how successful the event has become by growing year on year Adlington Angling Centre have been thinking long and hard through these Winter months as the appetite from all the young anglers in the area to have even more young anglers matches is stronger than ever as nowhere near enough people in the industry and sport do enough to help the next generation of anglers along the way.
So with all that in mind Adlington Angling Centre are proud to announce that they are adding a BRAND NEW FREE Young Anglers Fishing Match to their already busy fishing events calendar which will be staged on Croft fisheries in Adlington at the beginning of the season on Saturday 22nd April as well as the one they have staged for the past 8 years after the school summer holidays at the same venue on Saturday 2nd September for any aspiring young angler in the area up to the age of 16 years old to attend.
From the very start of this great events humble beginning's they always had the support of an unsung hero, keen angler and fishery owner Paul Goldsmith whom without his support from the beginning this great event would not have been possible.

Paul was a lad who grew up around the reservoirs in the area and had a passion for fishing from a young age, his dream was to run a fishery which he fulfilled over 20 years ago as he built his house next to the mill waters of the Pincroft factory in Adlington and turned it into the prolific Croft fisheries.
Paul's real passion was fishing the rivers of Scotland for salmon and trout. He was a regular on the river Tweed always catching salmon, getting it smoked and bringing it home for family friends.
Sadly Paul passed away in 2017 and as a tribute to this much loved family man Adlington Angling Centre decided to rename this event in his honor to The Paul Goldsmith FREE Young Anglers Match with the full support of his family.
Adlington Angling Centre feel that the young people from around the area have missed out on so much over the past few years as they have not had the freedom to do the fun things they normally love to do which is why Adlington Angling Centre feel running the Paul Goldsmith FREE Young Anglers Match is even more important than ever to stage to put as many smiles back onto the young anglers faces from around the area which is whey they have added a second Paul Goldsmith FREE Young Anglers Match to the 2023 calendar which will be staged on Saturday 22nd April as well as Saturday 2nd September.
Its not only because of all the restrictions we have all had to live through these past few years but Adlington Angling Centre also feel its the most important event that they run in their fishing calendar as young anglers from around the area need more competition's like this in the area to not only encourage them into this great sport we all love but to also give them something to look forward to and raise their spirits after everything everyone has been through in these unprecedented times over the past few years.
This year the event is returning once again with the competition being held on both Saturday 22nd April as well as Saturday 2nd September 2023 which due to popular demand will be once again staged across lakes 1 and 2 consecutively at Croft Fishery, Huyton Road, Adlington BL6 5LH to cope with the numbers of aspiring anglers that are expected to descend on the venue and if last years event is anything to go by the hottest tickets in town will be netted very quickly by all the keen young anglers so we advise you all to be quick to book your place to avoid disappointment.
Once again Paul Goldsmith's family Kirsty Louise Swift and partner Andy Swift have kindly let us have the venue again without any charge as they feel its an important event in the fishing calendar that should be supported as it will hopefully encourage more young aspiring anglers into this great sport we all love.
On the day Adlington Angling Centre will have some of their Daiwa UK match & feeder team members as well as anglers from around the area walking the banks whom have also volunteered to help give the youngsters any tips and advice to help them through the day.
Both the competition's are as always going to be FREE events for all youngsters to attend which gives them all something for them to look forward to both at the beginning of the year plus after the end of the school summer holidays that won't cost them anything to attend in times when families and people alike are watching all the pennies they spend.
Both matches will be decided by which of the aspiring young anglers catches the heaviest net of fish on the day with the top three anglers winning trophy's but for all the youngsters who are not as competitive and just want to whet a line and enjoy a days fishing don't worry as even though it is a fishing match we are going to have a relaxed atmosphere with no pressure on the young anglers so everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a free days fishing if they wish and get any tips and advice off the many experienced anglers that will be walking the banks on the day along the way. We are also going to make sure every young angler who attends the event walks away with a fishing goody bag as due to the event catching the imagination of many fishing tackle/bait manufacturers involved in the industry such as Daiwa UK, Advantage Baits, Fish Matrix, Shimano-Fishing, Tackle Guru, Preston Innovations, Sonubaits and Dynamite Baits to name but a few we are able to give all young anglers that enter prizes that include some tackle, bait, dvd's and booklets due to all their kind donations which will hopefully crown off what will be a great experience for them all and create some fond childhood memories they will never forget.

Event organisor Andy Gibbs will do the draw for pegs himself on the morning of the match before directing all the aspiring anglers to their pegs for the day.
All the weighing in will be done by two officials and all the results will as always be posted later on the Adlington Angling Centre page on Facebook for all to see.
