☀️ What a busy week we had at Addlestone Canoe Club, in the glorious British sunshine! 🛶🌊

Saturday saw some of our racers team up with Wey Kayak Club for a fantastic long paddle from Wey Kayak Club to Addlestone Canoe Club. A special shout out to our youngest club member, who paddled the entire distance with a smile on their face from start to finish, an amazing achievement! 👏🚣

A couple of our racers also took on the Reading Circuit Hasler Race. Racing in extremely hot conditions was no easy task, but they both dug deep, represented the club brilliantly and completed their races successfully. 💪🔥

Meanwhile, some of our members were enjoying the whitewater at the National White Water Centre in North Wales, making the most of the fantastic conditions and getting plenty of sunshine laps on the water. 🌊🏔️

On Tuesday, we were delighted to welcome our local MP, Dr Ben Spencer, to Addlestone Canoe Club for our Big Paddle Clean Up. Together, we collected litter from the river and removed large amounts of Pennywort, an invasive non-native plant that is choking our waterways.

A huge thank you to all the members and parents who joined us for the afternoon. After all the hard work, our younger paddlers enjoyed cooling off in the river, having fun in the sunshine and finishing the day with a well-earned ice pop! 🍦😎

What a busy weekend for Addlestone Canoe Club! 🚣‍♀️🔥

A huge thank you to Wey Kayak Club for inviting a few of us to join your fun regatta we can’t wait to welcome you to our club later this summer! ☀️

Sunday was packed with action as our whitewater paddlers headed to Lee Valley White Water Centre to put their skills to the test on both the Legacy and Olympic courses 💪🌊

Meanwhile, our racers were competing across two events: the Hastings 1066 Hasler and the Basingstoke Canoe Club Hasler race.

👏 Huge congratulations to:
🥇 David for taking 1st place in Div 6 at the Hastings 1066 Hasler
🥈 Aash for taking an amazing 2nd place in Geoff Sanders C at the Basingstoke Hasler!

A few members also spent part of the day helping with car parking and pre-starts 🙌

Well done to everyone who represented the club this weekend - fantastic teamwork, effort, and results all round! 🚣🎉

What a brilliant Bank Holiday weekend at Addlestone Canoe Club! 🚣‍♂️

We kicked things off with our first Try It Day of the year, and the turnout did not disappoint. It was fantastic to welcome so many new faces down to the club, with plenty of smiles, laughter, and a real buzz both on and off the water.

From first-time paddlers finding their balance to experienced members lending a hand and sharing their passion, the whole day had a great community feel. Whether you were out on the water or cheering from the side, there was something for everyone.

A big thank you to all the volunteers who made the day run so smoothly, we couldn’t do it without you. And to everyone who came along to give it a go… we hope to see you back very soon!

The first National Sprint Regatta of the year is complete for Addlestone Canoe Club 🚣‍♂️

The April regatta was in its true glory, with every type of weather possible on display, a real test for paddlers and volunteers alike! 🌦️💨🌊

We may have had more volunteers than racers this time around, but William & Michael absolutely did us proud with a fantastic performance on the water 👏 Their effort, determination and results are promising for the season ahead.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support, help and represent the club, regattas like these don’t happen without you.

A particular mention and well done to Andy and all the other volunteers on the boats who braved every weather condition to ensure the regatta ran safely, your efforts are hugely appreciated 👏

The hours spent volunteering both before, during and after the event by some of our club members do not go unnoticed. Thank you Wendy, Lisa, Chris & Philip (& Andy) for your incredible commitment.

We’re excited to see more of our paddlers follow in William & Michael’s footsteps at the upcoming regattas. Bring it on! 💪

What a weekend for the club 👏

Huge congratulations to our very own Ultraman Adrian for completing the Devizes to Westminster (DW) Stage Race in his K1 over Easter weekend, crossing the finish line in an incredible 21:16:37 💪🚣‍♂️

A massive shoutout as well to his brilliant support crew, Chris, Maggie & Helen. The effort, dedication and encouragement behind the scenes made all the difference.

We’d also like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped marshal during the event. DW simply couldn’t happen without volunteers. Special mention to our club members Sally, Gary, Mel & David for being out on the course helping keep everything running smoothly 👏

An amazing effort from everyone involved, what a team!

We may have been a little quiet on social media lately… but there’s been plenty happening behind the scenes 👀

👏 Huge congratulations to David on winning Most Improved Veteran at the Wey Kayak Club Hare & Hounds Series

🥉 Well done to William for taking 3rd place in the K1 500m at the JDS/BUCS Regatta

🚣‍♀️ Massive effort from Immi & William completing Elmbridge Canoe Club’s Half Marathon, 12 miles and 10 portages 💪

🙌 And finally, a huge thank you to our extended Addlestone Canoe Club family for your continued support, we’re now enjoying our newly refurbished gym equipment.

🥶❄️ A cracking start to the New Year! 🙌

Two Addlestone Canoe Club crews braved freezing temperatures to tackle the 13-mile Frank Luzmore Canoe Race, paddling down the River Thames from Elmbridge CC to Richmond CC.

🏆 William & Doug smashed it with 1st place (Junior/Veteran)
💪 Adrian & Bertie dug deep for a strong 8th place (Veteran)

Frozen hands, tough conditions, and serious determination on show 👏
Proud of you all! 🙌🚣‍♂️
