The Under 13 girls today started where they left last season, with the opening game being against Accy Allstars at Memorial park.

Huncoat started brightly and took control of the game. A few chances went begging with the Huncoat girls unable to convert their chances.

Allstars broke the deadlock with a hit from outside the box which unfortunately for Huncoat sneaked into the top corner.

Huncoat dusted themselves off and got level when Amelia latched onto a through ball and powered into the defence and slotted it home. This took the teams level into half time.

Huncoat came out and picked up where they left off. Creating plenty of chances and testing the Allstars keeper and she matched the chances with some great saves. Huncoat finally got their reward when again Amelia latched onto another through ball and again dispatched it into the bottom corner.

The Huncoat girls kept up the pressure and again were unlucky to not find another.

The game looked all but done until a Allstars player hit one from her own half in the dying seconds, only to go and find the top corner again. Simply nothing the girls could do to stop that. The whistle blew straight away on the restart.

A real entertaining game and a game played in the right manner.

Player of the match was Scarlet and the oppositions player of the match was Emily.

⚫️⚪️ Under 8’s Blacks Match Report ⚪️⚫️

Back at it with the boys on a fresh Saturday morning.

Led out today with Theo L as captain. As ever all the lads gave it their all, trying to implement all we’ve learnt during our training sessions and friendlies.

Parents POTM went to Harrison, as ever he gets the play moving with his range of passing and being able to pick out the players in space not only that solid at the back with some important blocks and tackles.

Coaches POTM went to Ezra, for his none stop running and his willingness not only to drive the boys up the pitch but to track back and help out with defence. I don’t think there was a patch of that pitch that Ezra didn’t cover within the game.

U12s POTM this week went to George 👏👏

Today was a big one for the Huncoat United Under 8s Whites! 🖤🤍

Our first game of the season as Under 8s, and with that came our first proper league game. After a heavy pre-season packed with training, matches and plenty of hard work, today was the perfect opportunity to see just how far the boys have come.

And wow… what a way to start! 👏

The boys thoroughly deserved their win today after playing some seriously good football and, more importantly, showing so much character as a team. The hard work they’ve put in over the summer was there for everyone to see.

The passing, movement, defending, attacking and, above all, the way they worked for each other was brilliant. We couldn’t be prouder of them.

Parents’ Player of the Match 🏆

Simply put, Harry is an amazing defender and he’s getting better every single game. Another incredibly solid display today and I’m not surprised at all that he’s taken home the parents’ trophy. Absolutely deserved, Harry! 👏

Coaches’ Player of the Match 🏆

Joshua rattled in an absolute worldie of a free kick from around 20 yards out! A proper left-foot rocket that you just love to see! 🚀⚽

He was unlucky not to add to his goal after another excellent performance, working hard and causing problems throughout.

These awards are honestly getting harder and harder to give out because we could have given the coaches’ player to every single one of them today. They worked so hard for each other and showed exactly what it means to play as a team. 💙
