Friday was Fozzy Cup day 🏆

The annual Accrington v Green Haworth match in memory of Trevor Foster.

12 matches in the morning followed by another 12 matches in the afternoon. The course was in immaculate condition and thankfully the weather was kind.

A great effort from all competitors with the result going slightly in Green Haworth’s favour. The Fozzy cup will stay at Green Haworth Golf Club until the battle resumes in 2027.

Huge thanks to the organisers from both teams who made the day a great success raising over £1000 for the mental health charity MIND.

A great weekend for Green Haworth Golf Club.

Saturday 25th July 2026
Presidents day hosted by Andrew Meadowcroft, players competed for the Presidents Prize and to get their name on the board. Conditions were tough with a strong wind and showers. After 36 holes over two weekends the results were.

Best Gross Score : Captain Danny Chamberlain.

Third Place : Alan Spencer 🥉
Runner up : Alan Rawcliffe🥈
Winner : Mark Baron 🥇🏆

Green Haworth hosted the ELGA mixed foursomes. Another very challenging day for golf with wind & rain. Teams from all over Lancashire came to compete.

Winners of the individual net prize- our very own Pete Johnson & Lady Captain Alison Hodgson.

2nd place : Our club captain Danny Chamberlain & Stacey Avis.

Team winners : again our very own Lady President Sue Densfield, Dave Densfield, Captain Danny Chamberlain, Stacey Avis, Pete Johnson & Lady Captain Alison Hodgson.

Huge congratulations to our winners and well done to all who participated.
