Fly fishing: Under the bung

Fly fishing: Under the bung I have an unhealthy obsession for developing flies that will be deadly when fished under an indicato

Superb morning at Millets Farm Fly Fishing Club set up my standard buzzer rig fishing a point fly at 4ft and a dropper at 2ft. Action was immediate with takes to both flies.

Fish are in great condition and fought hard. A really high stamp of fish to the net with some stunning Torre Trout Farms Ltd browns as well as a couple of tigers

A lovely morning at Millets Farm Fly Fishing Club set up to fish buzzers, with a dropper at around 2ft and the point at around 4ft, as there was the odd fish showing early on the top. Action was steady, with everything coming to the point fly- if you got the presentation right in the breeze then the takes came-
Some lovely looking fish to the net including this Torre Trout Farms Ltd missile Of a brown

Beautiful spring morning at Millets Farm Fly Fishing Club Cold early on so started on a mix of HENDS products spectra leeches, Flybox.co.uk eggstasy blobs and balanced GRHES, with interest to them all. Weather rapidly warmed and by 8:30 the fish were switching on to buzzers- the action was frenetic with interest pretty much every cast- including a couple of stunning Torre Trout Farms Ltd Tigers and browns- finished with a full bag

A properly wild and windy session at Millets Farm Fly Fishing Club Set up to fish buzzers- challenge was to present them naturally without them being dragged around in the wind- if you got it right there were plenty of takes- ended with a full bag of mostly Torre Trout Farms Ltd browns, which were all in stunning condition and fought hard

Arrived at Millets Farm Fly Fishing Club full of hope for a buzzer fishing bonanza. The morning started as I would expect with buzzer feeders, with the fish feeding on leeches early whilst they await the hatch, resulting in a few good fish.

As the action died I switched to a buzzer rig full of anticipation only to catch…. Nothing- hmm.

Switched over onto balanced GRHEs and instant steady action- kept swapping back to buzzers in hope things would pick up, only to go back to GRHEs- trout- nothing if not unpredictable

Popped down to Millets Farm Fly Fishing club this afternoon with what looked to be a promising buzzer fishing forecast. The weather held up its end of the bargain, but the water conditions made life tricky, with it all being pretty murky below 2-3ft down thanks to the recent rains.

Still, if you persevered and kept prospecting the takes came, including this stunner

The second coming of Noah at Millets Farm Fly Fishing Club with torrential rain and a stiff breeze.
Set up to fish leeches and GRHEs- No joy to the leeches so switched over onto the balanced GRHEs and began to pick up interest almost immediately with a few fish to the net plus a few dropped- you just had to keep working the fly and the takes came

A tale of two halves this morning at Millets Farm Fly Fishing Club very little interest first thing forced a
Break and a rethink- went with a mix of blobs and buzzers fished towards the bottom pool. Blobs got interest first and slowly that switched to buzzers, with steady action to them around 4ft down, including this lovely full finned Torre Trout Farms Ltd brown, finishing up with a full bag

Damp, grey morning at Millets Farm Fly Fishing Club Sessions that evolved throughout the morning- began on HENDS products spectra leeches and picked up a few before it went quiet. Switched to a size 16 balanced GRHE and another couple, including this Torre Trout Farms Ltd stunner, before in went quiet again. Another switch to buzzers and a few more came to the net.
