I’m absolutely delighted and honoured to have been shortlisted for the “Uniting for Environmental Impact” award at the 2026 Keep Wales Tidy, Tidy Wales Awards. To be recognised alongside so many inspiring groups and individuals across Wales is a huge privilege.

This shortlisting reflects the dedication of the community, every volunteer, and everyone who has supported Aberoutdoors along the way and I want to say a heartfelt thank you to Keep Wales Tidy for championing the work that makes our communities greener, cleaner, and more connected.

I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together so far, and this recognition gives me even more energy to keep going. Thank you for your support and congratulations to all the other shortlisted nominees.

Sunday 20th September! 🌊

For our next Community Clean up event we’ll be partnering with Ocean Conservancy for their (ICC) international coastal clean up day.

Our main focus for this clean up will be our lovely beaches here in Aberystwyth.

Litter pickers, hoops, gloves & high vis will be provided. High vis will be mandatory for this clean up event. As always all clean ups are risk assessed.

We’ll be starting at noon from Gwin Y Môr and a 10% discount will be offered on hot drinks for everyone taking part. ☕️

“Thanks to millions of volunteers around the world, the ICC has become a beacon of hope, leading and inspiring action in support of our ocean. Since its beginning, more than 19 million volunteers have collected more than 400 million pounds of trash.”

I really looking forward to seeing you on the 20th!

I can’t quite believe we’re almost at the end of the summer! It’s been a fantastic season to say the least with so much going on it was often hard to keep up!

I’m feeling extremely grateful to those of you who I’ve met this summer and ever more grateful for the conversations shared and memories made.

Whether it’s providing you with a bespoke experience or teaching you about water safety, it’s safe to say I have enjoyed and will continue to enjoy every minute!

I’m glad to be here and proud to provide you with a unique experience. There’s still time to book in if you haven’t already. Make sure you don’t miss out!

I believe everyone should have the right to use the water recreationally but always encourage you to do so safely. There’s far more to it than you might think!

Knowing a few important things makes the world of difference and means you can enjoy the water on the coast here in Aberystwyth to it’s full potential.

Experiencing the local wildlife always leaves a lasting impression. We often see Cormorants, kingfishers, swans, atlantic grey seals & dolphins to name a few.

We are able to access places rarely seen. Navigable only at certain times of the year under certain conditions. Every experience is unique.

We provide a way to relax and unwind from the stress of everyday life whilst reconnecting with nature, providing a space for you to slow things down a little.

Kayak or paddleboard, the choice is always yours. Hire & go at your own pace or join a coached session. Equipment provided & full safety advice given.

We’re still here throughout September. We hope this windy weather settles and when it does we will be waiting for you! See you soon!

Our annual beach clean with Bloom Summer School. 1 hour, 1 beach clean and 1 full bag between us. Thank you to everyone who took part and thank you for getting involved and expressing an interest in safeguarding the environment.

Thanks, as always to .co for hosting us! ☕️ and to Aberystwyth University for help making this happen! The seafront and the general town as of late has been looking a whole lot cleaner. Thanks to everyone who chips in here and there to keep it looking lovely.

Diolch, thank you, arigatou, obrigado!

Diolch yn fawr pawb! Thanks to everyone who showed up today for this month’s community clean up. A solid effort by all involved, filling 5 bags in total. Familiar faces and some new!

Thanks to our town councillors Cllr. Nishant Chandolia Dani Thomas Cllr Saman Bashir for joining us.

It was great seeing you all get stuck in whilst chatting about shared interests and what we can do collectively to tackle the litter in our community. A lovely Sunday spent on the streets of Aberystwyth.

Thank you to Gwin Y Môr for hosting us and thank you for the wonderful coffee! ☕️

We will begin to experience some of the largest astronomical tides possible this week. This is when the gravitational pull of the Moon, the Sun and the Earth begins to align maximally. These “King Tides” will exceed a whopping 5m!

The weather is looking near perfect which means our Guided Trips will be in full swing. The bigger the tide the better allowing us to venture further up the rivers showing you places rarely seen from the water.

Our trips this week will also align with the setting sun. Nothing beats an Aberystwyth sunset so why not make the most of it this week and end your day the right way as the sun dips beneath the horizon.

Choose between a paddleboard or kayak before we set off and then relax knowing you’re in safe hands. All necessary kit provided. We do ask that you have some level of experience prior to participating.

Our guided tours are our most popular activity and are perfect for novices and seasoned paddlers alike. Family friendly and suitable for children from 5yrs. Please note all children under 12yrs must share a tandem craft with a parent or guardian.

I will guide you up both the Ystwyth & Rheidol Rivers either side of the Marina. These locations boast wonderful views and lots of wildlife to look out for, such as cormorants, otters, kingfishers, egrets and more!

We may also venture out on to the sea should the conditions allow with a possible chance of seeing some Atlantic grey seals and if you’re really lucky a few bottlenose dolphins!

Still not sure? See what other people said by checking out our reviews on Google, Tripadvisor and Facebook! I come highly recommended with over 130 5* Reviews. I always put your safety first.

Check out the schedule for this week!

Putting some love back into Lovesgrove today! Heaps of litter in this lay-by and no one is to blame apart from those leaving it there.

It’s still a mystery to me that in this day and age we exist among people who still think it’s okay to toss their litter from their car or treat the nearest lay-by like a bin.

Clean Up Britain have recently launched a camera campaign to catch fly tippers, using trail cameras in high traffic areas to catch offenders in the act hoping to prevent further offences. Tackling the issue at the source and preventing environmental crime before it happens. The work they’ve been doing is fantastic and you should check them out if you have a second.

Thanks to everyone who honked their horns on their way past today. It’s always a good moral boost and thanks to The Rug Repair Girl | Boake Rug Restoration for pulling in and stopping for a chat-it was great meeting you.

3 bags full, multiple car parts, and 3 fly tipped bags reported. Leaving Lovesgrove better than I found it.

Caru Aber. ❤️
