A big Happy Retirement to our Chairman Amtony!!

Ant completed his last shift in ‘Big Pit’ today as an engineer.. easily the best ‘Museum’ in the UK’ and that’s thanks to the great people like Ant who work there.

For the second consecutive year we celebrate achieving a Green Flag Community Award at Abertillery Park!

The Green Flag Award is the international mark of quality parks and green spaces. We’re proud to be the only Bowls Club in Wales achieving this standard.

A huge thank you to David Wilcox and all our amazing volunteers who made this possible.

Congratulations to John Tinelli on reaching the last eight of Wales Over 60’s Singles competition. ‘JT’ lost to Barry Romily’s Jeff Wright in the Quarter Final in a very tight game, 21 -18.

Congratulations to Club Captain John Tinelli on qualifying for the Welsh National Finals at Llandrindod Wells!

'JT' defeated Keiran Davies of Crosskeys 21 - 13 in the MBA County Over 60's Singles Semi Final at Newbridge Bowls Club.

'JT' joins Abertillery's 'Champion of Champions Singles' finalist Mark Seymour in representing the club at the MBA County Finals on Saturday 27th July 2024, at Abergavenny Bowling Club.

Congratulations to both players ensuring our club has representation at two County Single Final competition's for the first time since 2018 💙.

Best of luck to John Tinelli this weekend in the MBA County Finals!

'JT' plays Rhymney Gwent's Colin Clabby in the final of Over 60 Singles at Cold Bath Road. Having already secured his place at the Welsh National Championships on 13th August, 'JT' hopes to bring the Over 60 title to the Park for the first time!

The MBA Finals are being held at Caerleon Bowls Club (Newport) 10:00am start.

Best of luck to Abertillery duo John Tinelli and Antony Williams competing at Britsh Isles Indoor Championships in Belfast this week.

Both players represent Wales in Over 60 Fours, with fellow Blaenau Gwent players Lawrence Jefferies and Steve Toms after winning the Welsh Indoor title in April.
