⭐️ I used to love being the victim.
✨ I thought that it was other people that made me feel like sh*t, not good enough, or awful.
✨ But there's a big problem with that perspective. As long as I chose to believe it, I was always a victim...
✨ It plagued me for years until one day I had a huge epiphany Which was this:
EVERYTHING you think and feel comes from your own state of mind in any given moment. No exceptions.
✨ Not anger. Not guilt. Not even love.
✨ Every emotion, every reaction, every story that plays in your head begins, and ends. with you.
✨ For years, I thought people’s words or actions caused my frustration or pain. But when I finally saw that it was the meaning I gave those moments, everything changed.
✨ You know this is true because one day someone can tell you you're stupid, and you laugh at them. Yet another day, it tears your heart apart and you wonder how someone could be so cruel...
✨ So how do you take back your power?
1️⃣ Know that your response is your power. Pause before reacting; that split second of awareness is where freedom begins.
2️⃣ Then remember that you have the power to choose whether or not you believe something that someone says or does to you. No matter how "hurtful" it may seem initially.
3️⃣ Repeat after me: "What anyone else thinks or says is none of my business" Let that sink in.
✨ This isn’t about suppressing emotion or pretending things don’t hurt, it’s about remembering that you decide how long they stay with you.
✨ Respond, don’t react. The choice has always been yours.
