Well, it just wasn’t to be down in Pembroke Dock!
First things first, a huge congratulations to Pembroke Dock Cricket Club on clinching the Division 3 title. A side that’s played plenty of cricket at Division 1 level in recent seasons, and it really showed across the season.
Batting first, they put 185-9 on the board, and in reply we stumbled to 63 all out. Not our day, the spoils go to the Dock.
But it’s far from all doom and gloom. We’ve still got one big match left: away to Hundleton Cricket Club. Just 3 points from that game will see us promoted to Division 2.
Pause on that for a moment… A club that only restarted in 2020, entered the league in 2021, and could (touch wood!) have racked up three promotions by the end of this season. That’s pretty special.
And let’s not forget, this success isn’t achieved by our brilliant players alone. From committee members and our groundsman, to supporters, sponsors and everyone who chips in, the commitment to keeping senior cricket alive in Fishguard and Goodwick is the club’s biggest win of all.
So, eyes now turn to Hundleton for the final chapter of 2025. We’ve had some great battles with them already in our short history, and we’re looking forward to one more as we wrap up the season.
