A first outing for this squad in the highest division South East has to offer 👏🏻
With new additions thrown into the mix it was great to see different styles come into Cymrics play.
The ladies showcased some fantastic passages of play and we will work on the consistency with this going forward, but my god for their very first match all together, I couldn’t be anything but proud.
They showed a real sense of togetherness and played with a smile on their faces throughout! I dare say they enjoyed the entire match 😝

Ffion showed immense strength tonight, holding her own in a tough shooting circle. Her knowledge of the game has improved and her body positioning and links with her co-shooter are not something to be overlooked. A thoroughly deserved recognition.

Taking on not one, but two new positions Sally impressed not just the coach’s, but her entire team on her new found confidence. A key link when in WA and a fiery addition to the defensive unit when in WD. Excited to see what she can do this season 🔥

E SQUAD 🔥

A slow start for the E’s, settling their nerves into the to the first game of the season, with a goal for goal first quarter. Further into the game they found their rhythm and pulled ahead of Gilfach. With defence stacking up on their numerous tips & intercepts, and attack working hard on ensuring our conversion to goal. The girls supported each other from beginning to end, and kept pushing, to come away with our win 🏆

POTM - Rhian
Rhi was an absolute work horse in defence this week! With clean and well timed intercepts. She worked tirelessly to put pressure on the opposition all while supporting and pushing confidence through the team. What a performance by our captain.

CPOTM -
A fantastic performance from Thandi. Listening to feedback, taking it on and adjusting her play throughout the game. Her attitude and willingness to learn were brilliant to see. Even taking on a different position for the last quarter.

D SQUAD 😮‍💨

A new squad, a new coach and a performance that everyone should be proud of. The team came out the blocks flying for their first game of the season. Right from the first whistle, the work rate and support off the ball were second to none. Our circle defence had clearly had their Weetabix, interceptions, tips and leans for days were on offer, with Callie providing a masterclass in how to read defensive play. A top effort through mid-court kept our circle attack busy, with both Iola and Eleri sinking long-bombs from all over the place. A shout out to our impact players who all lived up to their namesake. Gilfach continued to push everyone right until the final whistle and were quick to capitalise on their turnovers, a great opposition and effort all round.

POTM & CPOTM - callie
Callie was on fire throughout the game and delivered a masterclass in circle defence 🔥. A well-deserving POTM and CPOTM, we can’t wait to watch her grow this season.

C SQUAD 🔥

A nervy start for the Cs this week, being the last of the Cymric squads to take to court put the pressure on!
After settling and regaining composure the squad was able to secure a lead and maintain that for the entirety of the game 👏🏻
Knowing where we went wrong means we are already halfway there to getting it right 💪🏻, so we dust off and go again next week ready to showcase what this team can really do.

“Defenders can’t be small” this girl will prove you wrong time and time again, her work ethic and determination to succeed is phenomenal. She didn’t let the opposition have any room to breathe and was the teams go to through court.
Captaining the squad this week, Darcy put on a performance on and off the court well beyond her years.

CPOTM - Samantha Louise Grimshaw
Probably one of our quietest players on court! But don’t let that fool you. Sam’s movement was spot on for this game, dodging & rolling to lose her defender with ease 😮‍💨 Her shooting accuracy played a huge part in the teams win today. She is not to be underestimated under any circumstance.

B SQUAD 💥

What a start for cymric b🔥 they went hard from the first whistle and didnt let up till the last whistle. The coach couldn’t of asked for anymore, passes were strong drives were amazing and the speed down court was spot on, vision and feed into the circle was pin point.

POTM - Ffion Davies
Ffion Davies take a bow ffion what a stand out performance her strength in the circle was amazing and shots were flying in from everywhere her communication on court with her fellow players is amazing and her play is smooth and calculated.

CPOTM - Alex Louise Evans
What an amazing performance her vision and feeds to her shooters was show stopping and her drives were precise and the support throughout court was lovely to see and even picked up a good few attacking turnovers what a great start to the season
