Good morning,
Please find below the March trail update for Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. We have been working to clear our trails, long distance routes and other roads from storm damage. Although, there are still some areas needing tackled, the majority of sites are now cleared and safe.
Balmaha
Conic Hill - OPEN

8 Mile Loop - OPEN

The Lochan Spling Trail bridge repair is complete with the trail re-opened. There are still remedial path works to take place, which will require further closure at a later date. There is still temporary signage in place but the bridge is accessible.
A harvesting site near Deer Craig / Balleich is complete, with haulage ongoing.
The Youth Campsites at Milton are currently closed due to a harvesting site and road repair operation in the area.
There is a new harvesting site near Stronmacnair in Loch Ard Forest, which lies near the Gravelfoyle Lomond View route. Whilst no closures or diversions are expected, please obey any onsite signage and advice from operators.

Felling at the thinning site near the Lodge and Lime Craig Trail has been completed. Haulage is underway. Please obey onsite signage and instructions from operators.
A new harvesting site is now active close to the Lime Craig Trail β the trail is open but access via Wayfarers entrance on the Dukeβs Pass is closed.

Badivow Trail β CLOSED Dangerous trees throughout this unwaymarked trail.
There is a harvesting site near the High Corrie Trail, in Greenburn. The trail remains open but please obey any onsite signage and advice from operators.
There are two thinning coupes active near Hoish / Badivow. - please obey all operational signage and advice from onsite operators during this time
Hoish Timber Stacking Yard β The Hoish Timber Stacking Yard is closed to the public and should not be accessed. This timber stacking yard is extremely dangerous, with heavy machinery present, large amounts of timber, and day and night operations taking place. For your own safety please do not enter the yard. There have been an increasing number of incidents with members of the public accessing the yard, which poses a serious danger to themselves and operators, as well as halting critical operations. Please obey the onsite signage and do not enter this area.
Garadhban

Sallochy
Sallochy campsite is now closed for the season. It is now available for day-visitor parking throughout the winter.

Three Lochs Forest Drive
There are significant amounts of windblown trees across the Three Lochs Drive route.

The Three Lochs Forest Drive is closed to public vehicles for the winter. It will reopen in Spring 2025.
There are two harvesting sites within the Drive. There will be a small diversion for cyclists, walkers and riders . Please obey any onsite signage and advice from operators.
Strathyre
The majority of sites in Strathyre are awaiting further inspection. We anticipate significant disruption in the area and advise not to access these sites until assessments can be made.
