Perth and Kinross Council’s Outdoor Education team for the fourth year running are opening their doors to offer you the Perth and Kinross Adventure Festival. The festival takes place on the 13th of June at the Live Active Leisure Dewars and Leisure Pool complex in Perth. Offering families and individuals an array of not for profit activities and an Inspirational presentation aimed at novice to int

ermediate level participants. Alastair is a true adventurer having cycled around the World, rowed the Atlantic and walked the M25! He also possesses the art of being a fantastic public speaker, taking you on a mental journey with him and encouraging you to get out in our own back yards and explore (discounted tickets now available). The Adventure programme for 2015 includes: Archery, Bush Craft, Stick Craft, Canoeing, Free Running / Parkour, Indoor Climbing, Kayaking, A Bike Zone including - A Smoothie Bike!, Kids Balance Bike area, Spinning Bikes, Bike Agility Course, Orienteering Maze, Sub Aqua and Segways!!! We are looking forward to sharing a smile and an adventure with you.

Down with my parents (chief photographers / dog walkers) in Devon today and had the opportunity to try out a SUP surfboard.

Man I was awful! The board was way above my ability level having only ridden inflatables before, but isn’t that a great joy!

The joy of sucking at something… this is me getting out of the water loving it but at my technical worst. Knowing that every time I try from now on I’ll get 100% better than today, then 90, 80,70 etc till boring mastery … learning is such a gift, the joy is in the journey not the result!

So begs a question: What are you hoping to be rubbish at next?
