Social personal wind sports and social sailing through windy club. Get in touch and lets get on the water. Dovey Yacht Club (DYC) offers a warm welcome to all, and is very family friendly. The Club allows you and your family to enjoy sailing, watersports or drinking in the beautiful sea views of Aberdovey from our Clubhouse and balcony.
“Probably the best located sailing club in Wales with stunn
ing views over the Dyfi estuary, what better way to enjoy the beautiful village of Aberdyfi.” As a Club we are blessed by our location which is centrally located at the start of Aberdyfi’s 4 mile sandy beach, overlooking the wharf and next to the main car park. New members are always very welcome and we have a range of options depending on what aspects of the Club you would like to use which include Full membership, Social Membership and Temporary Membership. https://www.doveyyachtclub.org.uk/become-member
DYC is affiliated to the Royal Yacht Association (RYA). We take safety very seriously and our qualified instructors offer a range of courses for all ages and abilities. 2022 training courses for members and non members are available to book now. https://www.doveyyachtclub.org.uk/events_training.asp
In addition to sailing, power boating we have a thriving community of kite and windsurfers, paddleboarders and we run regular events, whether they be social or water based. The Clubhouse bar is open throughout the year. Open water swimming is becoming increasingly popular and ours started off with a New Years Day Dip. Our Commodore, Des George, has been an active Member of DYC for many years and in 2021 the Club was extremely proud when Des was recognised by the RYA for a Lifetime Commitment Award, which was presented by Princess Anne at the annual awards ceremony in London.
