Macaulay Association National Sixes P4/5 Runners up ๐ฅ๐๐
Today our 4/5 and P6/7 teams headed to Oban to the Macaulay Association National Sixes.
Despite the forecast the weather held pretty well once in Oban for the league stages with only the odd shower.
The P4/5s started slowly after a long drive then 1hr wait for their 1st game.
They scored 1st but Bun-Sgoil Ghร idhlig Loch Abar d8dntbgive up and scored to make it 1-1.
They then started to build momentum with a 2-0 win v Kilmory, before beating Rockfield White 4-0 , then Dunollie by a similar score.
A play off was then needed to determine group winners as BSGL also finished on 7.
Aberdour were firing on form by now, Miller opened the scoring with a rocket and they then went on to win 3-0 securing top spot and a semi final place.
In a great semi final Aberdour played Rockfield Blue, who started quicker and went 1 - 0 up. But Aberdour didnt give up and came back into it with a screamer from Lachie. At 2-2 it could gone either way but a Seoras goal put Dour through to the Finals.
The forecast finally came true with the heavens opening drenching the p6/7 final.
By the P4/5 final the pitch had standing water and made tough for both teams to play the way they could. In a very wet, but determined and high intensity Final, Park were able to get over the line and came out deserved Winners ๐ ๐
Our P6 team rose to the challange and improved game by game against tough opponents in difficult group. They didnt make it out the group stages but there was never more than one or two goals in each game. These are the comps and games that will help them improve and come back stronger, especially as they can all play next year as p7s.
Thanks to Elliot for stepping in again to lead the team ๐
We are all incredibly proud of all the players in Black and White today. They all fought right to the end in every game and gave their all in some difficult games and conditions.
