Aberdour Primary School at the Tulloch Cup Finals

โ€‹Today, our Aberdour Primary School team travelled to Fort William to compete in the Tulloch Cup finals.

Representing both our school and the Central Belt, the squad faced off against five other area winners from across Scotland.

โ€‹It was a challenging day of high-quality shinty, providing a fantastic opportunity for our players to test their skills against the best teams in the country.

โ€‹Match Summary:

โ€‹Game 1: We started slowly, narrowly losing 1โ€“0 to BSGLA (Lochaber) in a very close contest.

โ€‹Games 2 & 3: We faced very sharp and clinical sides in BSGP (Portree) and Kingussie, where our team struggled to find their usual belief.

โ€‹Game 4: A well-deserved win against Beauly PS lifted the teamโ€™s spirits.

โ€‹Game 5: The team headed into their final match against Rockfield with much more confidence. Although Rockfield were deserved winners, our players definitely stepped up a gear.

โ€‹Congratulations to Bun-Sgoil Ghร idhlig Phort Rรฌgh (Portree), who emerged as the overall Tulloch Cup winners after a hard-fought final against Rockfield! ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ‘

โ€‹Before heading home, the Aberdour squad enjoyed a friendly inter-team six-a-side match, treating us to some excellent shinty, followed by a well-earned trip to McDonald's.

It was a fantastic end-of-term trip for the squad! ๐Ÿ˜€

โ€‹A huge thank you to everyone who made this day possible:

โ€‹Keith Chamberlain: Thank you for collecting the minibus and driving us; your help was very much appreciated! ๐Ÿ‘

โ€‹The Parents: Thank you to those who were able to attend and support the team. ๐Ÿ˜Š

โ€‹The Organisers: A special thanks to Katie and the Camanachd Association for running such a great event, and to the referees and Lochaber High School Ambassadors for all their assistance throughout the day. ๐Ÿ‘

Macaulay Association National Sixes P4/5 Runners up ๐Ÿฅˆ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Today our 4/5 and P6/7 teams headed to Oban to the Macaulay Association National Sixes.

Despite the forecast the weather held pretty well once in Oban for the league stages with only the odd shower.

The P4/5s started slowly after a long drive then 1hr wait for their 1st game.
They scored 1st but Bun-Sgoil Ghร idhlig Loch Abar d8dntbgive up and scored to make it 1-1.

They then started to build momentum with a 2-0 win v Kilmory, before beating Rockfield White 4-0 , then Dunollie by a similar score.

A play off was then needed to determine group winners as BSGL also finished on 7.

Aberdour were firing on form by now, Miller opened the scoring with a rocket and they then went on to win 3-0 securing top spot and a semi final place.

In a great semi final Aberdour played Rockfield Blue, who started quicker and went 1 - 0 up. But Aberdour didnt give up and came back into it with a screamer from Lachie. At 2-2 it could gone either way but a Seoras goal put Dour through to the Finals.

The forecast finally came true with the heavens opening drenching the p6/7 final.

By the P4/5 final the pitch had standing water and made tough for both teams to play the way they could. In a very wet, but determined and high intensity Final, Park were able to get over the line and came out deserved Winners ๐Ÿ† ๐Ÿ‘

Our P6 team rose to the challange and improved game by game against tough opponents in difficult group. They didnt make it out the group stages but there was never more than one or two goals in each game. These are the comps and games that will help them improve and come back stronger, especially as they can all play next year as p7s.
Thanks to Elliot for stepping in again to lead the team ๐Ÿ‘

We are all incredibly proud of all the players in Black and White today. They all fought right to the end in every game and gave their all in some difficult games and conditions.

Days like this build character and help us learn and improve ๐Ÿ’ช ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿค๐Ÿ–ค

Thanks to all the parents for the 6.30am starts, long wet drive up, and very wet drive home ๐Ÿ‘
Your support in appreciated ๐Ÿ–ค

To the Macaulay Association and Camanachd Association for organising , to the refs, helpers, and sponsors, thanks for a good event!

We might be drying out for days ๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿ’ง๐ŸŒง๐ŸŒง but had a good day ๐Ÿ˜Š

ABERDOUR 2nds v BUTE 2nds
Bullough Cup Round 2

30.05.26

It was a tough game at home against a fit and clinical Bute team.

The lads held their own throughout, with a lot of the boys stepping up, putting in the hard work, and really getting stuck in.

For a team that hasnโ€™t played together very often, they pulled together well and showed great promise if we can keep building and maintain that level.

It was also great to have some familiar faces back in the team, and hopefully weโ€™ll see them again soon.

POTM goes to Struan Cairns (still available to sponsor) who worked tirelessly at full centre and gave everything right up to the final whistle ๐Ÿ‘

Thanks as ever to The Foresters Arms for post match hospitality

Final round of the Central Scotland Outdoor League in Stirling today โ€” and thankfully the rain stayed away while the sun even made an appearance ๐ŸŒž

Thanks to Kevin and Strathkelvin for organising the day and fixtures and to Stirling for the venue ๐Ÿ™Œ

With it being a holiday weekend, we were slightly short on numbers, but still had enough players to field teams in both the P4/5 and P6/7 age groups.

Both teams won all of their games and finished the league undefeated across all four round-robin events ๐Ÿ™Œ

I also have medals for Nairn, Alex, Connor C, Connor B and Lewis McCabe, who all played for the Blacks in previous rounds ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

A huge thank you to all the parents for the continued support โ€” travelling to training sessions and games all over the place. Itโ€™s greatly appreciated.

Massive thanks as well to our coaches, who give up so much of their own time to motivate, organise and support the players ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Tom Shenfield from our senior side has been helping out at training recently and came along today to watch the teams win the league. His experience and coaching style is a huge help.

Big thanks also to Elliot, who has led the team at most Sunday events since last summer.

There are still a few Summer Sixes events to come in June, which will provide some really competitive games for our P4โ€“P7 players and continue to push their development on.

Well done everyone ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

The future is still bright in Black and White โšซ๏ธโšช๏ธโšซ๏ธ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ

Our U14s took on Inveraray in the South Development League this morning.

Both Aberdour and Inveraray were up for the challenge, which made for an exciting game for our supporters.

In the end, there wasnt much to separate the two teams, with exciting end to end play throughout.

It ended after 60 minutes in a very fair 4-4 draw, with goals from Matilda, Reuben (2) and Callum.

Huge thanks to our referee Archie MacDougall for keeping everything running so smoothly.
