RGU Table Tennis has a new home. 🏓

We’re delighted to announce that RGU Sports Clubs Table Tennis will now train and play at SpinLab.

Eight ITTF-standard tables on Enlio flooring, with a proper club environment around them. Welcome to the arch, we’re looking forward to having you.

RGU students, your club sessions are running here from now on. And if you’ve never played but fancy trying, the club’s a good place to start.

Launch Night — three hours of table tennis, food, drinks and music to mark SpinLab properly opening.

Exhibition matches with high-level players. Challenge the pros. Enter the Launch Night competition and get yourself on the SpinLab leaderboard. And plenty of time to eat, drink and meet people between games.

Competitive player, haven’t touched a bat since school, or just after a different night out with mates — all of it works. Come with friends, come with colleagues, come on your own. We’ll get you playing.

Thursday 24 September, we open the doors properly — and we’re starting with families.

4pm–6.30pm. Games, challenges, coaching from our team and prizes to be won. Eight proper tables in a converted railway arch, and all of them are yours.

Ages 5 and over, under-16s with a grown-up. No experience needed — most kids coming have never held a bat, and that’s the point. Bats and balls provided.

Never played? Perfect. 🏓

An hour for complete beginners, and for anyone coming back after years away. You’ll learn how to hold the bat, how to serve, how to keep a rally going, and enough of the rules to play a proper game by the end.

No experience needed. No kit needed. No fitness level needed. Everyone in the room is starting in the same place, so there’s no standing out and nothing to keep up with.

Saturdays, 12–1pm
£10 per session · Ages 16+

Two age groups, five sessions a week, £6.50 a child.

Ages 5–8 — a fun, energetic introduction for our youngest players. Hand-eye coordination, balance and basic bat skills, through games, mini-challenges and plenty of encouragement.
Mondays 4–5pm · Saturdays 11am–12pm

Ages 9–12 — grip, footwork, serving and rallying, learned through drills and games that build confidence at their own pace.
Tuesdays 4–5pm · Wednesdays 4–5pm · Sundays 11am–12pm

Every session is a full hour, coached throughout. Bats and balls provided. No experience needed — most kids who come have never held a bat, and that’s exactly who this is for.

Weekday sessions resume Monday 21 September.

Wednesday night is free. Nobody seems to know this. 🏓

7pm–10pm, every Wednesday in September. Free to play, free food, bats provided, no booking.

Come on your own and we’ll put you on a table with whoever’s around. Come with a mate and play each other all night. Come with four of you and barely keep score.

All of it works. You meet people either way.

From October this becomes our club night properly. September is your chance to see what that looks like without paying a penny.

SpinLab is Aberdeen's first full-time dedicated table tennis facility, with eight proper tables in a converted railway arch on South College Street, and we're throwing open the doors for families.

Turn up and play. That’s it. 🏓

Club Access is the heart of what SpinLab is. Ten hours a week where members walk in, get on a table, and play with whoever’s there. No booking, no arranging a partner, no paying per session.

Come alone and we’ll get you on a table with someone. Come with a mate and train properly. Both work, and you meet people either way.

Adult — £30
Family — £50 (1 adult + 2 under-15s)

Per month, and that’s the whole thing.

Not a member? Come anyway — £6.50 a visit, no commitment.

But the maths is the maths. At £6.50 a drop-in, adult membership pays for itself at five visits a month. Under-18 and under-15 at three. That’s before a third off court hire (£18 an hour becomes £12) and the Longboat robot for solo drills.

And if you’re not ready for either — Wednesday’s open night is still running, still free, still open to everyone, 7–10pm through September. Turn up, play, meet people, pay nothing. It’s the closest thing to a club night without being a member, and it’ll give you a proper feel for what the club is before you commit to anything.
