Scott McKenna started out as a young player at Aberdeen, worked his way through the academy, went on to play for the Dons, represented Scotland, and became part of a World Cup journey.

Now, his story is helping inspire young players involved with the Foundation.

Russell remembers Scott’s development at Aberdeen and knows how important it is for young people to see what can be achieved with hard work, support and belief.

“For the children taking part in our life-changing programmes, Scott’s journey is more than a football story. It is proof that big opportunities can begin right here in Aberdeen.

“We are very grateful to Scott for supporting the Foundation and helping us continue to encourage, coach and inspire young people from socially deprived areas of the city.”

What a brilliant day at the Aberdeen Kiltwalk on Sunday, Russell joined some of our amazing supporters taking on the challenge for the Foundation.

One mission. Two incredible fundraising events. One amazing community. 🫶🏻

Today, we come together for the Craig Brown Cup 2026. A day to celebrate community, connection and making a difference through sport ⚽️

And as if captaining the Aberdeen Legends side wasn’t enough, Russell is also taking part in the Kiltwalk Aberdeen tomorrow. 🥾

Leading one event. Walking another. All to support the work of the Foundation.

Commitment and Community. That’s what this weekend is all about.

🚀 What an out-of-this-world experience! ✨

This year, thanks to the incredibly generous support of Apache, pupils across some of our partner schools had the chance to step inside the amazing TechFest Dome, a mobile planetarium bringing the wonders of space directly into the school! 🌍🪐⭐

The immersive and interactive experience took children on an unforgettable journey through space and time, sparking curiosity, imagination and plenty of excitement along the way.

From exploring galaxies to discovering the constellations lighting up the night sky, the pupils absolutely loved becoming space explorers for the day!

Experiences like this are a fantastic way to engage young minds, inspire questions and show that learning can be an adventure.

A huge thank you again to Apache for making this possible and helping us create memories (and future scientists!) that will last a lifetime.

We would like to take a moment to say a huge thank you to all of the amazing volunteers who support the work of the Foundation.

Their time, energy and commitment make a real difference to the young people and communities we work with. Whether sharing their expertise, supporting our partner schools, helping at events and holiday camps, or representing us in the community, their contribution helps us create opportunities and positive experiences for many.

Volunteering is about more than giving your time. It’s about inspiring confidence, opening doors, building connections and making a lasting impact where it matters most.

We are incredibly grateful and proud to have such a dedicated team of volunteers supporting our mission.

The Craig Brown Cup 2026 is almost here!

Join us at Balmoral Stadium on Saturday 6th June for a fantastic afternoon of family fun, celebrating football and the legacy of the legendary Craig Brown.

📅 Saturday 6th June
📍 Balmoral Stadium, Aberdeen
🚪 Gates Open: 1:30pm
⚽ Kick-Off: 3:00pm

General entry: £10, with kids 12 & under free (max 3 per adult)

Main stand seating: £20 including a pie and tea, coffee or Bovril

🍻The bar will be open from 1:30pm and drinks can be enjoyed in the stadium.

Please note:
• Only participants are permitted on the pitch.
• No dogs are allowed within the stadium grounds (except assistance dogs, in line with SFA regulations).
