Just received this as part of a reminder about our annual Body Control Pilates Development Weekend! Keep learning stay relevant and professional!

“As we all know, the Pilates world is in a state of flux at the moment. There is a widespread concern about a drop in teaching standards and the potential damage to the hard-earned reputation of Pilates caused by the explosion of large group classes.
The directors of the Society for the Pilates Method (SPM) will give an important update on Sunday morning on the wider work being done to address this issue and on the new initiative of the SPM to become the centre of gravity for responsible training providers and responsible teachers in the UK.”

Worthwhile reading this article on the boom in Reformer Pilates classes. You can’t be safe being taught by just anyone! Check your teacher’s qualifications.

What’s currently the hottest fitness craze in the UK and around the world? Reformer-based fitness classes in gyms and health clubs, which can have anything between 15-20 Reformers in the room (we know of one club that has more than 30).
