A bit of catch-up to be done on our page.. it’s been a bit neglected!

On Saturday 21st February 2026 Ugie held our annual Bonspiel with some old faces (😉) and new faces entering teams from all over the country. It was once again a very successful day with a full ice rink of curlers and plenty fun was had by all 🥃🥌

A big thank you to Frank Taylor at Beds Direkt & Taylors Furniture - Mintlaw for sponsoring the day. We are so very grateful!

Thank you to Curl Aberdeen for your hospitality and a fine plate of stovies at lunch time 😃

The results of the day were as follows:

1st place - Ugie River
2nd place - Aberdeen Curling Club
3rd place - Fochabers
Wooden spoon - Ladies of Moray

Results from yesterday’s Bonspiel…

1st and 2nd place were very very close with just 2 shots in it but Ballindalloch pipped Ugie Bears to the post and won the trophy 🏆🥌 Chloe’s Minions came in at 3rd place and Fochabers won the wooden spoon. Very well done to everyone.

A big thanks to our sponsor Frank Taylor of Beds Direkt & Taylors Furniture - Mintlaw for supporting our Bonspiel again for another year. We really are so grateful for your generosity!

Also a big thank you to Jamie Kindness who did a fantastic job of piping the players on to the ice at the start of the day.

Thank you to everyone who entered our bonspiel or supported us in any way whether it was helping on the day, donating raffles, buying raffles. You have helped make it another successful Bonspiel which for those of you don’t know our profits goes towards helping support our budding juniors which Ugie are very lucky to have!

We held a come and try curling session on Sunday afternoon and we were delighted to introduce our sport to 15 new potential curlers.

This evening Ugie Curling Club held our 31st AGM to finish off the season and had our end of season meal at Curl Aberdeen. Our juniors did exceptionally well this season! 🥌💪🏼

🏆 The Mike Brown Trophy (main league) was won by Ailsa Hood & team
🏆 The Thirds League Trophy was won by Chloe Taylor & team
🥄 The Whauphill Trophy was won by Bill Ritchie & team
