This weekend’s Glentanar Juniors FC FC Player of the Match goes to Aiden Robertson! 👏🏼⚽️

Another superb team performance and effort throughout the squad in the North of Scotland Football League but Aiden gets the award after being voted Player of the Match by the followers. 👏🏼

Whitehills Football Club v Glentanar Juniors FC in the North of Scotland Football League

The started the game on the front foot and the early pressure paid off in the 3rd minute when “Lil chip over the defenders head” by Tito Silva found Godwin on the run who finished into the side netting, 1-0.

We continued to push forward forcing Whitehills to turn over the ball and added a second on the 18th minute, good work on the right hand side resulted in Ross MacDonald picking out on rushing Oliver Najkowski on the edge of the box who fired home past the Whitehills keeper.

Whitehills probably should have pulled one back when we switched off at the front post from a corner, luckily we managed to clear goal line scramble and keep our 2-0 lead.

We added a 3rd just before half time when a well worked short corner was laid off by Godwin to Aaron Blair who sent the ball in, a dummy by Ewan Milne allowed the ball to find Nathan Burnett at the back post who finished well into the roof of the net, 3-0 HT.

Second half we made one change and introduced Cormack for his first Glens appearance. He almost made an instant impact as he met a cross in from Robbo that bounced off the crossbar.

We thought we had added a 4th when Oli broke into the box and smashed it home but it was ruled out for a soft foul.

We had the ball in the net again when Tito met a cross and finished well but this time it was ruled out for offside.

There was no doubt about the 4th when Ryan Cormack was played through and taken down in the box winning a penalty which he then calmly dispatched to make it 4-0.

Whitehills continued to try push forward but we stood strong and maintained the clean sheet. A well deserved 3 points on the road against a stubborn Whitehills team.

The club are delighted to welcome Ryan Cormack to Glentanar Juniors FC on loan from Newmachar United Juniors FC.

Ryan is a great addition and we’re delighted to have him on board as we continue to strengthen the group for the season ahead ⚽️

We look forward to seeing Ryan in a Glens shirt and wish him all the best during his time with the club.

A little bit of fun to kick off at training earlier in the week, plenty of hard work and another good session in the legs as the Glens prepare to go on their travels this weekend! 💪🏼⚽️

A 94-mile round trip awaits as we make the journey from Woodside Sports Complex to Bill Morrice Park to take on Whitehills Football Club, with 3 points up for grabs in the North of Scotland Football League !🔥

One more session done. Now all eyes on Saturday. 👊
