Start Of Nutritional Challenge & Journey - Read Below
Over the past 15 months I have been struggling with a partially slipped & bulging disk on my back which has prevented me from being mobile and from training. With operation now complete I am on road to recovery but wont be able to train in gym until mid January. As a result I have gained weight which effects performance & confidence.
When I played professionally I had to work hard to keep my weight at an elite playing level as I do not have a body that handles what would be considered a "normal British diet" well! Not everyone has a furnace for a metabolism and it can be a struggle!
At the end of my playing days and now as a coach, nutrition became more and more prevalent in the game and is now a mainstay of elite performance, something I could not believe in more.
When younger I prided myself on fitness and I want to demonstrate the impact solely of nutrition to our clients looking to make it at the highest level they can. I am going back to my old playing diet regime (rundown below) without any training (only walking) to show the impact that diet alone can have.
Long Story Short Plan -
YES - Vegetables, Fruits , Grains , White Meat , Fish , Water(Squash Allowed) , Teas
NO - Anything containing Refined Sugar , Processed Foods, Fizzy Liquids , Fruit Juices
Monday - Friday = Full Dedication
Saturday - Anything Goes
Sunday - Moderate
During the next three months I will chart my meals , weight progress with pictures (wont expose the gruesome pictures yet, leave that to the end) and routines. I am a below average cook and will show it can be done , highlighting the impact good nutrition alone has on your body. When we hit mid January then I will return to training on top of the diet plan to show then the acceleration training adds to the process.
When playing I was also lucky enough to be given some nutritional aids by clubs, these are now readily available to the public and as part of this process I am including them in the plan to be as close to the same pro diet regime I had (picture attached).
I will give basic update of progress for all to see via our website blog and social media channels every few weeks with our block clients having access to public update but privately all the nutritional data , plans and then football specific exercises via email.
Im sure there will be bumps as for everyone but I look forward to showing the impact on the body and just how proper nutrition can give you that extra edge in performance and health!
Wish me luck and the cat is optional but highly recommended!
