As a coach I’ve always had clients tell me they’ve cut carbs in the past, or “should I cut carbs to help me lose weight quicker”
The problem isn’t the carbs, the problem could be a few different factors such as ⬇️
- your eating the wrong carbohydrates that are spiking your blood sugars constantly and your body has become insulin resistant ≠ inability to lose weight easily.
- your not eating ENOUGH carbs! Did you know that carbs are just as important as protein when it comes to building muscle ?
When you eat protein it’s broken down to amino acids that are used to repair and grow new muscle fibers. When you eat carbs it’s converted into glucose which is used for energy and prevents muscle breakdown.
But Lois, Why is this important for losing 10/20/30 lbs might you ask?
The more muscle you have on your body the higher chances of insulin sensitivity therefore making it easier for you to lose weight and keep it off FOR GOOD 👍🏼
For some people this could be a journey in itself as the body might already be in an insulin resistant state due to the constant low carbs / insufficient carb intake and therefore this should be the main point of action to address when working with clients looking to lose stubborn body fat who have been limiting carbs.
