Drummonds Thistle Xmas reunion

A last minute og was the decider in tonight’s reunion match, where a Marc Williams long ball was nodded in past the despairing keeper by his defence... as ASV was closing up for the night.

The 2-2 scoreline that led to the injury time excitement had resulted through goals from:

Ross Paterson (home)
Gav Johnston (home)
David Masson (away)

Outstanding effort from everyone that played and several most enjoyable post match pints to rehydrate 🍺

*Apologies to ex-players that weren’t on the email list that missed out tonight. We ended up with over 20 confirmations really quickly, which meant the invitation couldn’t be extended to players that only played in the final years.

Exactly two years since we called it a day, ending with a 3-2 win v the Monkey House.

Tonight we signed off the season with a 3-2 win v Monkey House United. A Ross finish after a dribble from his own half putting us 1-0 up, with a one on one from Dode and a tap in from Paul to keep us ahead when pegged back. Great effort from everyone this season - Awards night/piss up details to follow soon!

3-1 win today v Brig of Dee Dons, with Dode, Baz and James getting the goals. Another game on Tuesday v Malibu at Inverdee 6.30ko - who's in?

Possibly the best performance I can remember Drummonds Thistle ever giving... where we were unlucky to lose 4-3 to league leaders Kincorth Rovers tonight. Incredible effort and creativity which has been missing in recent games, with fantastic strikes from Dode and Gerry, sandwiching a Ross pen.

Lots of endeavour from today's squad but a lack of cutting edge led to a 5-0 defeat in the cup to Kincorth. Good luck to them in the next round and for the rest of their season. We were concentrating on the league anyway... ;-)

Congrats to Gav Johnston for getting his 50th cap in yesterday's 4-3 win v Kincorth Thistle. Probably the highest assist contributor in the team, with his flying wing play. If only he had a left foot or could head the ball then he would have a few more goals as well...
