Boarderline Store looking for staff this season!

Not long to go til those new cannons are firing..!! ❄❄❄

Reposting about the job opportunity as no sooner than we put this out last time - most of the local area lost power and internet for the week.. so you may have missed it..!! 💨💨

We are looking for great retail staff to help run the store.

Full or part time hours can be considered – so if you have some availability on just certain days - please get in touch to discuss, as it may work.

Requirements:
You must be friendly, organised, self-motivated and able to work under pressure, at times.

Snowsports experience is an advantage, but not essential

You must have your own transport, and ideally live reasonably locally.
Tomintoul – Strathdon – Ballater areas all ideal.

Due to the weather dependent nature of a ski centre, you must be flexible, and there are no guaranteed hours.

But with great snowmaking facilities at L**ht, there should be some continuity ❄❄❄

As many of you will know the L**ht Crowdfunding Campaign ended yesterday.
It has been a great success, particularly in such uncertain times – and we can’t thank everyone enough for supporting the project and ultimately making it happen!

So without further ado, we can announce the winners of the Grand Prize Draw!

One of our founding directors, Pieter had all the names in his trusty helmet – so we headed down to Aberdeen Snowsports Centre to do the draw.

This is a big shout out to one of our resident clubs – Grampian Snowsports Club

They came up with a really fun way of raising funds for their club and our crowdfunding campaign – great to see loads of families getting out and notching up the miles with physical activity for the **htToL**h challenge!

G*Snow is a young and progressive snowsports club, whose ethos is ‘all of mountain’ so they feature racing, freestyle and freeskiing in equal measure – delivered by some great local coaches.
And… they are adding a snowboard program for this season, so give them a follow to keep up to date!

Update!
Since the exciting announcement of the snow cannons arrival earlier this week, we’ve seen a great flurry of donations and have blasted well past the £60,000 mark which is just brilliant! 😀

We were absolutely delighted to receive a cheque today from Heather Cowie, the chair of Gordon Skiers Racing presented to our MD - Pieter!

The Gordon Skiers are an Aberdeenshire ski racing club who have training at The L**ht since they formed back in the 1980's and have nurtured some great talents, several of whom have gone on to compete on the world stage.

What's more - Heather and her family have donated a 2 night stay in their beautifully renovated beach chalet at Findhorn Bay. This will be another amazing prize in the this weekend's final prize draw!

So, we said we had some big news this week, and here it is…!! 😁

4 new Technoalpin TF10 snow cannons have found a new home!

We didn’t know what to expect when we put this crowdfunding project together, but we have been blown away by the support, and enthusiasm for our vision of more snow sure seasons at The L**ht.

We can’t thank you enough for sharing our vision and the hundreds of you that have contributed – literally every pound has counted and made this happen! 🙏

We have reached just over 70% of our target. However, that level of commitment gave us the confidence to place the order.

With looming uncertainty surrounding 1 January and goods arriving in the UK, it was a ‘now or never’ moment, and we went for it! 😁

** We do still need to come up with the remaining £20,000... so if you are still considering donating, or are currently fundraising – the Crowdfunder page will be live until Saturday.**
