🟢⚫️ CLUB UPDATE ⚫️🟢

Not the post we ever wanted to be writing, but after a very tough pre season for numbers over the past few weeks, we’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to fold Gilfach FC.

This club was started by a group of mates, and we happened to find an opportunity to try and keep as many of them together as possible even with no Gilfach. We have done this by merging with Rhymney Football Club allowing us to try and keep as many of the squad together for the next journey, so please follow their socials as thats where all the updates will be going forwards.

We’re proud of what we achieved in such a short space of time: promotion in our first season, some unforgettable matches, and most importantly, building something that meant something to the people involved.

Whether you came to watch, shared a post, sponsored in any way, joined our competitions, kicked a ball, or helped behind the scenes, we appreciate you more than you know. You helped make this club what it was.

This isn’t how we wanted it to end, but thats the beauty of local football. Hope to see all of you follow us on the new challenge with the good bunch already up at Rhymney!

As we look ahead to the new season & new challenges, we are looking once again to bolster our squad. We welcome both new & old players to come along to train with us first to see if its for them!

Well Friday’s presentation was a great sucess, many thanks to all that came along and helped us celebrate. Hope everyone enjoyed themselves, and I know there were more than a few sore heads yesterday morning!

Also great to see multiple players hit the 50 appearences milestone this year in just 77 games!

Not quite the season we grew used to on the pitch, but as always everyone turned up in their numbers to enjoy themselves! Thankyou again to Ryan Banwell & Murray’s for hosting us on short notice and for being an ever present since our formation.

As the season finally ended a couple of weeks ago, our presentation will be next Friday, 23rd. We thank all of you that have come out to support us this season, and to return the favour, we want to invite you along to have an end of season drink with us!

We are back in action this evening as we look to make something of our season following the conclusion of our league campaign.

We host Rhydyfelin AFC in The Bernard Martin Cup.

2 teams who have had very different seasons, but anything can happen in these cup fixtures, and the squad would love your support to help them out!
