Even though my Dad is no longer here. He is with me every day.

I live my life by his values, his work ethics, kindness and loyalty.

Busy women often lack the time and brain capacity to think about what they’re going to eat for lunch.

They either skip it entirely, grab something quick or buy something that may satisfy in the moment but doesn’t give them the nutrition they need to get them through the day.

Which is why I find it easier to eat the same meals on repeat.

You pick something you like.
You get the ingredients in.
You make enough for multiple portions.

You cook once and then you’ll no longer be asking yourself, “what shall I have today?”

It’s simply the same as yesterday.

It reduces decision making and makes eating healthier so much easier.

You know you have something that’s;
Nutritious
Filling
Quick
Easy to grab between meetings, school runs & everything else life throws at you.

And although it may take time, it saves you time, making it easier to stay on track with your health and weight loss goals.

You’ll feel fuller, your appetite will be better regulated and you’ll be less likely to spend the evening picking and snacking because you fuelled your body properly.

And you’ll feel so much better for it.

This week was a shredded chicken, sweetcorn & lime sandwich filler by which was delicious in a wrap.

I think this will resonate with many women…

When things don’t go as we’d planned or we make a choice we perceive as ‘bad’, we often avoid getting back to the very things that help us.

Not because we don’t know what to do.

Not because we don’t want the results.

Not because we don’t care.

But because we feel we’ve already messed up.

So we stop paying attention.
We stop planning.
We stop doing the habits that were helping.

But let me reassure you…

One meal doesn’t ruin your progress.

One busy day doesn’t ruin your progress.

One less ideal choice doesn’t ruin your progress.

The key is to notice when you’re avoiding something and gently bring yourself back to it.

Because consistency isn’t about being perfect.

It’s about continuing to show up, especially when things aren’t perfect.

That’s what helps you build trust in yourself.

And that’s what stops another Monday feeling like you’re starting all over again.

Save this for the days you feel like burying your head in the sand and avoiding the habits that help you feel your best.

Many women struggle with the changes menopause brings.

Impact to your sleep
Your energy and mood
Motivation
Changes in your body
And others symptoms associated with menopause

And generally how you FEEL in yourself.

So much so it can get in the way of you doing the very things you need to do to feel better.

But with support, understanding, compassion and plenty of reassurance, you can make change and overcome the barriers that are getting in the way.

And exercise helps hugely.

It can improve your sleep.
Help you to have more energy and improve your mood.
Improve muscle mass and bone density which is essential for your long term health.
Help with your weight and body shape.

And you’ll FEEL so much better for it.

Which will likely have a knock on effect to you doing the other things to support your health such as;

Eating better
Getting out for the walk
Being more active in your every day life.
And showing up feeling a healthier and happier version of yourself.

Let this be a valuable reminder that you don’t need to have the perfect week.

Doing your best is enough.

No matter how busy life is. No matter how stressful your week has been. No matter if some meals weren’t ideal or you missed a workout.

You really don’t need to be perfect.

What you do need to do is not let things spiral.

Just keep carrying on doing your best.

That way you’ll end the week feeling better in yourself.

Proud of yourself for not giving up.

And get to Monday not feeling like you have to start all over again.

You’ll make progress.
And feel better for it.

The scales will go up sometimes.

That’s normal.

The question is...
👉What do you do next?

Do you decide you’ve blown it?
Get frustrated?
And promise yourself you’ll start again Monday?

Or do you accept it’s a normal fluctuation and get back to the habits that were working?

The women who successfully lose weight and keep it off aren’t the women who never see the scales go up.

They’re the women who continue with the habits that support their health, trust that consistency pays off and refuse to let one scale reading undo all their hard work.

Which is exactly the mindset shift I help women develop.
