ARTICLE 🗞️ : HENOK MULUBBRHAN ÉLU CYCLISTE AFRICAIN 2023 ✨
L’Erythréen Henok Mulubrhan 🇪🇷 est le lauréat du 12e Trophée du Cycliste africain, il devance son compatriote Biniam Girmay, lauréat ces trois dernières années, et le Marocain Achraf Ed Doghmy. Henok Mulubrhan, 24 ans, doit sa distinction à sa victoire finale et ses succès d’étapes au Tour du Rwanda (UCI 2.1) ainsi qu’au Tour of Qinghai Lake en Chine (UCI 2.Pro). Il a aussi décroché le titre continental de Champion d’Afrique. Ces performances 2023 lui permettront de passer en World Tour pour la saison 2024 dans l’équipe Astana Qazakstan Team. C’est la huitième fois en douze éditions qu’un coureur érythréen remporte ce Trophée 🏆
Il a obtenu le plus grand nombre de votes de la part du jury présidé par le quintuple vainqueur du Tour de France, Bernard Hinault et composé de vingt-cinq membres parmi lesquels des coureurs, entraîneurs et dirigeants africains, des organisateurs d’épreuves cyclistes sur le continent mais aussi des journalistes spécialisés, africains et européens, qui suivent l’ensemble des courses cyclistes en Afrique.
HENOK MULUBRHAN : « Je suis vraiment heureux de remporter ce trophée, j'ai beaucoup rêvé d'être le meilleur coureur africain, j'ai été dans le top 5 pendant 3 ans et je l'ai finalement obtenu. Cette année est la meilleure saison jusqu'à présent dans ma carrière, j'ai gagné le Tour du Rwanda et le Tour Qinghai Lake, j'ai aussi été champion d'Afrique ! Je remercie mon équipe Green Project-Bardiani CSF-Faizane et tous mes coéquipiers pendant cette saison, ce trophée leur appartient aussi ! Je veux aussi remercier ma famille et mes fans qui m’ont soutenu pour le gagner.»
Ce Trophée a été créé il y a douze ans par les organisateurs de la Tropicale, toujours soucieux d’aider au développement du cyclisme africain en récompensant le coureur du continent ayant réalisé les plus belles performances de la saison et réussi par son rayonnement à faire connaître le cyclisme africain sur la scène mondiale 🚴🏽🌴

ARTICLE 🗞️: HENOK MULUBBRHAN ELECTED AFRICAN CYCLIST 2023 ✨
Eritrea's Henok Mulubrhan 🇪🇷 is the winner of the 12th African Cyclist Trophy, ahead of his compatriot Biniam Girmay, winner for the last three years, and Morocco's Achraf Ed Doghmy. Henok Mulubrhan, 24, owes his distinction to his overall victory and stage wins at the Tour of Rwanda (UCI 2.1) and the Tour of Qinghai Lake in China (UCI 2.Pro). He also won the continental title of African Champion. These 2023 performances will enable him to move up to the World Tour for the 2024 season with the Astana Qazakstan Team. This is the eighth time in twelve editions that an Eritrean rider has won this Trophy 🏆
He received the highest number of votes from the jury, chaired by five-time Tour de France winner Bernard Hinault and made up of twenty-five members including African riders, coaches and managers, organizers of cycling events on the continent and also specialist journalists, both African and European, who follow all cycling races in Africa.
HENOK MULUBRHAN: “I'm really happy to win this trophy, I've dreamed a lot of being the best African rider, I've been in the top 5 for 3 years and I finally got it. This year is the best season so far in my career, I won the Tour of Rwanda and the Qinghai Lake Tour, I was also African champion! I'd like to thank my team Green Project-Bardiani CSF-Faizane and all my team-mates during this season, because this trophy belongs to them too! I also want to thank my family and my fans who supported me to win it.”
The Trophy was created twelve years ago by the organizers of La Tropicale, who are always keen to help the development of African cycling by rewarding the rider from the continent who has achieved the best performances of the season and succeeded in raising the profile of African cycling on the world stage 🚴🏽🌴
