The Barns dans les Pyrénées has already booked the gîte out for the last two weeks of Tour de France 2013 .... several B&B rooms will also be available ... but suggest if you want to be involved in TDF 100th Anniversary in the wonderful Pyrénées you book in quick ... believe me ... a little centenary party will be planned ... both on the mountain and on the terrace!

Home after watching the Tour de France on Col de Aspin - few days up there with Bernie the bolt .... best camping dog ever! .... so chilled and laid back you would never even know she was there! .... HAPPY BIRTHDAY BERNIE .... 1 YEAR OLD TODAY .... no time for treat as busy turning gîte around for new guests arriving this afternoon ... but she has had several yummy bits of steak this evening to make up for it!

Pete already headed off down the lane running with Bernie before the sun comes up and it gets too hot! I am getting the house ready for the arrival of our VIP guests Barry and Pattsi Light who arrive at The Barns dans les Pyrénées tomorrow for what hopes to be a great weekend ..... Tarbes premier Marathon ..... and a little celebration along the way thrown in for good measure! Good Luck Barry and Pete - know you will run well! What number marathon is this for you now Barry? .... 60 Marathons 60 Weeks 60 years old .... Just amazing and great inspiration!

Bernie and I out 6 am this morning on the mountain bike - just perfect temperature, sun just coming up - great ride through woodland and farm tracks - oh how good the coffee tastes! Going to be a beautiful day in the Pyrénées today

2 June - 50km point to point mountain trail race over the 3 peaks of Paloumère, Cagire and Gar with 3,200m of climbing. Enter as an individual or relay team of 3 - The race starts at Arbas and finishes at St-Pe-d'Ardet. www.trail-des3pics.fr

La Crémaillère

17 June- Start at Luchon (630m altitude) and finishing at Superbagneres (1,800m altitude). Just 6km long - but with a 970m climb!

12 August - Trail race starting at Sarp with choice of two distances: 21km or 6km through the Barousse valley.

Ronde des Fleurs

25 August 2012 - this year just one distance, the Grand Trail 80km. The ultra distance race from refuge to refuge.
