🎣 **Baleine Catch Report | 6th – 13th September** 🎣

What a week at Baleine! 🔥🎣

We had a great group on the lake this week. It was a little hectic towards the end, but all in all they were a fantastic bunch of guys to meet and a pleasure to have at Baleine.

Just like Saussaie, the lake fished really well this week and produced some magnificent carp.

Unfortunately, **8 bites were lost**, which could have made an already impressive result even better. In the end, the lads landed an incredible **28 carp**.

And the weights were seriously impressive for this time of year:

🎣 1** fish over 60lb**, with the 3 scale setting the mark at an incredible **68lb**
🎣 **3 x 50lb+**, up to **57lb**
🎣 **8 x 40lb+**

Baleine certainly delivered on the weight front this week, and it was great to see so many big fish coming out as we move towards the end of the season. 🔥

The lads were absolutely buzzing with their week, and we're already happy to say that their **next trip is booked!** 👊

A massive well done to everyone and thank you for a great week at Baleine.

🎣 **Saussaie Catch Report | 5th – 12th September** 🎣

What a week at Saussaie! 🔥🎣

These lads have had what they described as the **holiday of their life**, and looking at the fish they managed to land, we can certainly understand why!

The numbers weren't huge, with **11 carp landed**, but the weights more than made up for it. There were **PBs smashed and then smashed again**, exactly what Saussaie is capable of producing.

Some very special fish made an appearance:

🎣 **The Rough Common – 65.8lb** — congratulations to **Dan!** 👏
🎣 **The Slight Grey – 49.12lb**
🎣 **Ziggy – 54.14lb**, already an incredible weight for her and one we expect to see getting much bigger! 🔥
🎣 **The Scar Common – 58.8lb**, looking absolutely incredible and completely empty.

What a week and what a set of fish! 💥

Unfortunately, not everyone managed to get amongst the fish this time, but that's carp fishing. It just means there is some **unfinished business** to come back and sort out next time! 😉

And that's exactly what we'd like to see. These guys were fantastic from start to finish, kept the lake and facilities **absolutely spotless**, and were a great group of people to have at Saussaie.

A massive thank you to all of you for choosing Carpe Vivre. It was a pleasure meeting you, and we’re already looking forward to seeing you back on the bank to finish that unfinished business!

🎣 Baleine Catch Report | 30th August – 6th September 🎣

What a great week we’ve had at Baleine!

This week we welcomed a lake-exclusive group of eight lads, and what a fantastic bunch they were. Great guys to meet, and a pleasure to have on the lake.

The lads worked hard for their results and managed an impressive 31 bites, landing 27 carp up to 54lb. 🎣🔥

It wasn’t a week full of real bangers, but that certainly didn’t stop the lads from enjoying themselves. They put the effort in, enjoyed the fishing and made the most of their time at Baleine.

They also organised their own competition during the week, which is always great to see. A bit of friendly competition, plenty of laughs and a great atmosphere amongst the group.

A massive well done to all eight anglers. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we’d love to welcome you back to Baleine again in the future.

🎣 **Saussaie Catch Report | 29th August – 5th September** 🎣

This week started with one of the most respectful groups we've had on Saussaie this year, and they certainly did well on the fishing side!

The lads managed **21 carp**, including a stunning **65.8lb common**, **four 50lb+ fish** up to **57.8lb**, and a beautiful mirror that looks to be a future 60lb+ male. 🎣🔥

Some fantastic angling and some very special fish. Congratulations to the whole group!

Unfortunately, the week ended on a disappointing note. To our surprise, the lake was left in quite a state, with really dirty facilities and bait left along the edges. Photos taken on the bank wile this is forbidden above 40 lb. This is not acceptable, and we simply cannot have it on the lake.

We will be keeping a much closer eye on things going forward, and we have again flagged the situation with the surrounding fishery owners.

We sincerely hope that by sharing these posts, we can encourage everyone to think a little differently and help keep our lakes clean, our fish safe and our fisheries enjoyable for everyone.

We want our guests to have a great time, catch some incredible carp and leave with fantastic memories. But just as important is leaving the lake **as you would expect to find it**.

🎣 **Baleine Catch Report | 23rd – 30th August** 🎣

**WHAT A WEEK AT BALEINE! 🔥🎣**

This week we had several separate groups fishing the lake, with **12 anglers in total**, and what a session they had!

There were **PB after PB**, so many special captures that it would be impossible to fit them all into one post. Congratulations to **every single angler** who fished with us this week — you all did an incredible job!

The numbers speak for themselves:

🎣 **1 fish over 60lb**, with the biggest going to an incredible **67lb**
🎣 **4 x 50lb+**, up to **56lb**
🎣 Including **Spartacus** and **The Dinosaur**, plus two other A-list fish
🎣 **9 x 40lb+**
🎣 And some seriously impressive individual catch records along the way!

It's a little unfortunate that the fish are carrying slightly less weight at this time of year, but judging by the smiles and the celebrations, that certainly didn't stop anyone enjoying themselves! 😂

Some of the captures this week were absolutely incredible, and seeing so many anglers achieve new personal bests made it even more special.

The whole group were also fantastic guests. Everyone got along, respected the lake and each other, and they left the fishery **nice and tidy**, exactly how we like it.

A massive **thank you to all 12 anglers** for making it such a memorable week at Baleine. 👊❤️

We'd love to see every one of you back again — hopefully next time we can put even more of Baleine's big girls on the bank!

🎣 **Saussaie Catch Report | 22nd – 29th August** 🎣

This week we welcomed **Martin and his son** to Saussaie. Martin is a regular guest who has fished the lake before and kindly took over the booking from his friend, who unfortunately couldn't make it this time.

Despite leaving **one day early**, the boys still managed to land an impressive **16 carp**. 🎣👏

They had a great week on the lake, although it's a little unfortunate that the fish are naturally carrying slightly less weight at this time of year. Even so, Martin managed to land one of the big males of Saussaie — a beautiful mirror of **57lb**, and definitely one that's heading towards the magical 60lb mark! 🔥

Most importantly, all the fish are looking in fantastic health, which is especially good to see after the horrible heat we've experienced this summer. Seeing them recover and continue to thrive is something we're really pleased about.

It's always great to see familiar faces back at Carpe Vivre, and we're already looking forward to welcoming Martin and his son back in **April next year**.

Hopefully, we'll see his friend back with him as well this time! 😉

🎣 **Baleine Catch Report | 16th – 23rd August** 🎣

Quite a week at Baleine!

This week we welcomed **Pete**, a new customer, alongside **Carol and Charlie**, who have fished with us before and are quickly becoming regulars. We also had our good old friend **Sam and the boys** back for a work/help week.

What made this week especially enjoyable was how everyone worked together, respected each other and helped out when needed. Exactly the kind of atmosphere we love to have at Baleine. 👊🎣

With **7 anglers on the lake**, the hard work certainly paid off. They almost doubled last week's catch, with an impressive **43 carp landed** in total. There were also quite a few unfortunate losses along the way, which could have made the numbers even higher.

The biggest fish was a beautiful **52lb**, although unfortunately no PBs were smashed this time. That said, there was some seriously good angling going on throughout the week.

None of the bigger girls decided to make an appearance, but that's carp fishing! You never know which one is going to pick up the bait next. 😉

Everyone had a great time, plenty of hard work was done and, most importantly, everyone enjoyed themselves.

A big thank you to everyone for the great atmosphere and for looking after each other and the lake.

🎣 **Saussaie Catch Report | 15th – 22nd August** 🎣

With no booking on Saussaie this week and a working party planned at Baleine, the original plan was to fish Baleine as well. But as the week wasn't sold and I didn't push it, I decided to stay on Saussaie overnight and extend my session.

Looking back, it was definitely a good decision! 😎🎣

I managed to land **16 carp**, with the biggest going to **61.2lb**.

Although this particular fish had been caught just two weeks earlier, it didn't take anything away from the moment for me. This was one of my personal target fish, so finally seeing it in the net was a very special moment. 🎯❤️

The weather also started to calm down, with the extreme heat finally easing. You could immediately see a big change in the behaviour of the fish, and hopefully this is the start of a really good period for Saussaie.

A great session, some fantastic fish and a target ticked off the list!

Now it's time to welcome our new customers arriving today. Let's hope the fish continue to play ball! 🤞🎣

🎣 **Baleine Catch Report | 9th – 16th August** 🎣

This week we welcomed back **Adam, Basil and the boys** to Baleine. They are repeat customers and a great bunch of lads to have on the lake. They’re all good anglers, and after several weeks of slower fishing, they really made the most of it this time!

The boys finished the week with an impressive **23 carp landed**, including **two fantastic 50s** — a **54.1lb** and a stunning **58lb**. 🎣🔥

Congratulations to **Kevin and Adam** on the big ones! 👏

They also landed **six 40s** overall, making it a seriously good week on Baleine.

As most of the fishing was done by casting, they did have some trouble with the pike picking up the leads. We’re now looking into what we can do to reduce this problem and make things easier for anglers fishing this way.

Despite the ongoing heat, it was a great week with plenty of laughs, good company and some cracking carp.

The boys are already looking at coming back in **October**, and we'd absolutely love to have them back!

🎣 **Saussaie Catch Report | 1st – 15th August** 🎣

Last week there was no catch report as this session was a full **two weeks** on Saussaie. To be honest, I also wanted to see if I could beat my good friend Wesley! 😂

Wesley came over with his wife and the girls so we could enjoy a bit of a family holiday together on Saussaie. Unfortunately, I couldn't fish during the first week as I was busy sorting the solar-system problems at Baleine, which even meant making two trips over to Holland.

Despite that, I still managed to get **6 bites and land 3 of Saussaie's residents**, up to around 40lb.

But Wesley definitely won this one! 👊🎣 He landed the incredible **Two Tone at 61.1lb**, followed by a stunning **65.2lb common** called Jules now.

The common was a particularly special capture. We had only seen this fish during the netting last December, and it had never been caught before at this weight. After the losses we have unfortunately experienced during the extreme heat, it was fantastic to see this fish doing so well and coming out at such a great weight.

In total, an incredible **13 carp were landed during the two weeks**, despite the ongoing heat and plenty of time spent swimming and enjoying the summer at Lac du Der. 😂☀️

A fantastic session, great company and some very special fish.

And congratulations to Wesley, who managed to beat his PB **twice in the same session!** 🏆👏
