📍Important Reminder – FAI Committee (January 24)
On January 24, the FAI committee will vote on amendments to the landing accuracy regulations. One specific point has drawn our attention regarding the wind limit (§ 5.1.3 – https://www.fai.org/sites/default/files/document/file/Annex%2010%20-%20S%26AL%20Annual%20Report%20-%20ISC%20Plenary%202026.pdf).
👉 As competitors, we do not support this paragraph, as it undermines the fundamental values of our sport: fairness and clarity for everyone.
🔴 The proposal allows:
• The wind limit to be modified at any time, including during a round
• A round to be interrupted, restarted, or resumed
• The application of complex rules for jump order and scoring
⚠️ Recent experience shows that this system is:
• Difficult to understand
• Hard to explain to the public and the media
• Very complicated to manage for organizers
• Perceived as unfair by teams that have already jumped
✅ We would instead favor:
• A single, unchanged wind limit for the entire round
• Any modification allowed only for the following round
• The same rule applied to all jumps and re-jumps
🎯 Objective: to guarantee fairness, clarity, and respect for the jump order, with a simple and proven rule.

👉 En tant que compétiteurs, nous ne soutenons pas ce paragraphe, car cela remet en cause les valeurs fondamentales du sport : équité et clarté pour tous.
🔴 La proposition permet :
• De modifier la limite de vent à tout moment, y compris en cours de manche
• D’interrompre, recommencer ou reprendre une manche
• D’appliquer des règles complexes pour l’ordre de passage et le scoring
⚠️ L’expérience récente montre que ce système est :
• Difficile à comprendre
• Complexe à expliquer au public et aux médias
• Très compliqué à gérer pour les organisateurs
• Ressenti comme injuste par les équipes ayant déjà sauté
✅ Nous verrions plutôt :
• Une limite de vent unique et inchangée pendant toute la manche
• Une modification possible uniquement pour la manche suivante
• La même règle pour tous les sauts et rejumps
🎯 Objectif : garantir l’équité, la lisibilité et le respect de l’ordre de passage, avec une règle simple et éprouvée.
