Orchard & Willow. (Formerly known as Champagne Carping, Les lacs du Verger) The two lake complex is located in the Champagne Region of France with easy access to the main arterial routes and the nearby town of Vitry-Le-Francois where all provisions are available. As mature gravel pits, Orchard and Willow Lakes are clean bottomed with all areas accessible and fishable. All of the swims have been s

ited to give the best access to open water and the marginal features whilst maintaining a minimal impact on the other anglers and their fishing. A great deal of effort has gone into making the environment as angler friendly as possible with good and dry access to the swims, all of which are within easy walking distance of the carp parking and catering facilities.

ORCHARD LAKE: We welcomed Tony’s group this week; a total of 7️⃣ carp were landed.

With an average weight of 30lb.

WILLOW LAKE: No anglers on the lake this week, so we took the opportunity to enjoy 24 hours of fishing with a friend, resulting in 4 mirror carp!

A few days late, but here’s the latest:

ORCHARD LAKE: No anglers on the lake this week; a bit of a rest won’t do the fish any harm, as the spawning season has started but isn’t over yet, given the changeable weather!

WILLOW LAKE: We had a visit from Andy and two of his friends, regulars at Willow.

Result: 1️⃣2️⃣ carp 🎣

7 carp between 41 and 49 lbs 🐋

ORCHARD LAKE: We welcomed David’s group this week; 1️⃣1️⃣ fish caught, with a few losses – but that’s all part of the game, as they say!

x6 carp between 32 and 38lbs 🐟
x2 carp over 40lb (a mirror carp of 48+ and another of 44) 🐋

WILLOW LAKE: We had a visit from Glen & Dan this week, who are regulars here; the week was more than good, with a total of 2️⃣0️⃣ carp caught between the two of them!

11 April to 18 April

ORCHARD LAKE: We welcomed Paul’s group this week. The fishing got off to a bit of a slow start, but despite that they didn’t lose hope, and by the end of their stay they’d still managed to catch 8️⃣ fish.

Including a fine 44lb mirror carp and a 45lb common carp. 🐟

We had a great time with this group and hope to see them again soon 😇

WILLOW LAKE: We welcomed two anglers for the opening week on the lake, Jake & Adam, and to say the least, the week was absolutely brilliant! 1️⃣6️⃣ fish caught 🤩 Well done, lads! 🤝

4 April to 11 April

We welcomed George and his dad for a week’s fishing on Orchard Lake.
The water has warmed up, and the fish are slowly starting to move. A few fish got away, but luckily three made it into the landing net this week!
Two for George (32.5 lb & 31 lb) and a lovely common carp for his dad weighing 31.5 lb (new PB)

Well done on your week, lads, as the weather hasn’t been easy yet, especially with three really hot days ☀️🥵

As for Willow Lake, we hadn’t had any anglers yet, but the first group has just arrived – let’s hope the fishing is good 🙌

CATCH REPORT #1

28 March to 04 April
First week of fishing!

We welcomed Steve’s group for the 2026 opening week at Orchard Lake.

Unfortunately, no fish were caught – just a few that got away. 😵

I would have preferred the season to get off to a better start, as I’m the new owner of the complex, but as they say: that’s fishing! 🎣

The wide temperature swings between day and night certainly didn’t help the carp to feed... 🥶

We still had a great time with Steve’s group and can’t wait to see them again next year for their chance at redemption! 💪🏼

As for Willow Lake, we didn’t have any anglers this week and we’re continuing to work hard on this lake. 🪵

What an incredible fish caught at Orchard Lake!
A beautiful 60lb mirror carp 🐋

A look back at this mad fish caught during a test fishing trip in February by my friend

After doing some research, this carp was caught by a young English angler in August 2025 weighing 52lb – what incredible growth!!

What does 2026 have in store for us? 😳

Retour sur ce poisson de dingue capturé lors d’une pêche test de février.

Après avoir fait quelques recherches, cette carpe a été capturé par un jeune pêcheur anglais au mois d’août 2025 à un poids de 23.5kg, quelle incroyable croissance !!

Tonight, I present to you the first carp of 2026, caught at Orchard Lake.

My friend Gaël Gavroy came to help me for a few days with maintenance at the complex. He couldn't resist setting up two rods, and a few hours later, in the middle of the morning, this beautiful common ended up in the landing net!
