The Resort

Sainte Foy is the Jewel of the Tarentaise, a secret among the powder tour guides and locals it avoided the large booms and demand for accommodation but has been growing steadily since the first farmers arrived all those years ago. This means that you do not get those horrible concrete buildings looming over you and great effort has been made to keep traditional styles with chalets that

nestle amongst the trees in their southwest-facing bowl. Nearly all the pitched roofs are cut from local slate by hand and the chalets and apartments built from the best local wood. Skiing

While the on-piste skiing is excellent for beginners and confirmed skiers, the resort is also famous for the off-piste terrain on offer. This varies from short runs between the trails to legendary descents such as the easy tour to the village of Le Monal or the fearsome north face of La Fogliettaz. Due to the quiet nature of the resort there is always fresh tracks to be found somewhere, long after the bigger resorts in the valley are tracked-out. A free shuttle bus links the main village, and the hamlets of La Thuile, Le Miroir and La Mazure to the ski resort so you can really explore the mountain with guides taking day trips through the backcountry and down to the otherwise inaccessible towns. Sainte Foy is nestled in the Heart of the French Alps surrounded by some of the biggest names including Val d'Isere, Tignes and Les Arcs. Also Just around the corner you will find La Rosiere, a gateway into Italy allowing you to ski over for lunch and return for dinner !
