The Gladiator team was joined onboard today by two wounded servicemen and true legends.

Paralympic medalist Dave Henson and multiple Invictus games medalist joined the crew for todays racing at Cowes Week

Team Boss Tony Langley had the following to say about the day:

“Today we were joined by Dave Henson and Josh Boggi, both seriously injured in Afghanistan in 2011. Neither had ever been on a sailing boat, let alone a Grand Prix racing yacht. Amazing, they were an inspiration to us all.”

As the 200th Anniversary Cowes Week gets underway today, the Gladiators will be joined by Invictus Foundation wounded injured and sick (WIS) armed services personnel marking the countdown to the Invictus Games 2027, being held in Birmingham next July.
Welcoming the team ahead of racing, Gladiator Team Boss Anthony Langley said: “Nothing embodies the Gladiator spirit more.”
Although Prince Harry, Founder and Patron of Invictus was unable to join the boat, his personal message to the team was well received.

Dear Tony,
Thank you, firstly for your understanding of my changing schedule with regard to the sailing.
I have limited time to spend with my family in the UK and I am very sad to be missing this opportunity.
With my warmest thanks and best wishes.

Meanwhile, Princess Anne, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, is expected in Cowes today and tomorrow.
