Derrière chaque voiture engagée par LRS Formula se cache une page de l’histoire de la Formule 1.
À l’occasion de la Magny-Cours Racing Cup, en partenariat avec ,zoom sur une monoplace particulièrement chargée d’histoire : notre Prost AP02, châssis numéro 03.
Conçue sous la direction technique de Bernard Dudot et Loïc Bigois pour la saison 1999, l’AP02 incarne l’ambition 100 % française de l’écurie d’Alain Prost. Mais le châssis n°03 possède une trajectoire bien à lui :
-Les débuts en Grand Prix : Ce châssis a débuté sa carrière mondiale dès le début de la saison 1999. Il a notamment été confié aux mains expertes d’Olivier Panis (le dernier vainqueur français en F1 de l’époque) et du prometteur Jarno Trulli.
Le cœur de la performance : Propulsé à l’origine par le bloc V10 Peugeot A18, ce châssis a limé le bitume des plus grands circuits du monde (Melbourne, Interlagos, Imola...) au cœur d’une grille de départ ultra-compétitive.
Le Mans et le développement : Après sa carrière officielle en GP, ce châssis n°03 a servi de base de développement technologique cruciale pour préparer les évolutions futures de l’écurie, notamment les systèmes électroniques et aérodynamiques de transition vers l’AP03.
D’hier à aujourd’hui : La renaissance
Aujourd’hui, sous l’impulsion de Laurent Redon et grâce à l’expertise d’orfèvre de nos techniciens, ce châssis n°03 ne dort pas dans un musée. Il vit, il roule, et il chante.
Le faire courir à Magny-Cours, sur les terres de l’ancien Grand Prix de France, est un symbole fort.
Nous sommes fiers de perpétuer cet héritage et de permettre à cette machine exceptionnelle de retrouver son élément naturel : la piste.

Every piston, every connecting rod, and every bolt is meticulously inspected, cleaned, and assembled with surgical precision.

This legendary engine is set to power the Williams FW32, which is currently undergoing a full restoration in our workshops.
